This is helpful!! Printify includes a column that is labeled Etsy fee, which when you highlight the "?" next to it, it says that when you price your item at a certain price point, Printify is factoring in the $.20 listing fee, 6.5% transaction fee and payment processing fee of 3% plus $.25. It also has the option to include offsite ad fees if you enable it. Maybe they did an since this video was made, but I'm currently about to launch my own Etsy shop and I freaked out watching this video so I made sure to check if these fees were included in the deduction of the cost and they are on Printify! So if anybody's looking to start a shop soon between Etsy/Printify, thankfully Printify includes these costs when you are going to set your price for your product.
Thanks for this, Hannah. With upfront costs, all the fees, ancillary business expenses, then taxes owed, it honestly doesn’t sound like it’s worth the effort. Feels like you’d have $1 profit on a $19 shirt.
I used Etsy for digital art about a year ago and didn’t get any traction until I used their advertising feature which took sooo much margin I couldn’t make a profit no matter what I charged. I’m looking into various POD items now, but don’t want to run into the same problem where all I’m doing is paying Etsy and I don’t get any money in the end. Any tips? Thanks
It’s a common challenge for Etsy sellers to balance the cost of advertising with the revenue generated from sales. 💸 Etsy ads can be a powerful tool for driving traffic to your store, but they’re not always the best option for every business. One tip I can offer rn is to focus on diversifying your marketing efforts. This could mean investing more time in organic marketing, like optimizing your listings for search or creating a strong social media presence.
That's why you add your items to Facebook marketplace and Craigslist in any cities you want with links from your Etsy shop for those items. My traffic was nothing before but now it's something... for free.
I'm so lost and confused. Just started down my POD journey and there is SOOO much information and different opinions it makes it difficult to proceed. Etsy / Printify - DO THAT. RedBubble, Tee Public, Zazzle - DO THAT. PlaceIT and/or Kittl? Amazon Merch (Denied!) My head is spinning! - Just had to get that off my chest. :)
I’m in the same situation it’s like so many different opinions you don’t know where to start from but I think sometimes you have to take risks and learn from your own mistakes🤷🏾♀️
Hi Hannah..I have been getting on average 1 sale a day since 4 months mainly from Etsy ads. I turned off my Etsy ads 4 days ago and have had zero sales since then. I sell personalized name necklaces that come with a meaningful message card. Yesterday I had 20 visits and today I only had 15 visits to my shop. Is this because I have turned off the ads or is it because it is usually this slow as we approach Christmas considering today is December 23? Is advertising my products on Pinterest and TH-cam shorts a good strategy? How do I increase views to my shop without Ads? I only sell to customers in USA. I would really appreciate your response, thanks!
Did you try the Printify POPUP store yet? Would love to know if this "simplify's" things (pun intended), from having to use so many platforms vs a one-stop-shop.
Hannah, do you have a check list of items you need to have before you start a shop? Like bank account, profile pic, banner or logo? Thank you for posting such transparent information! It has been very helpful.
I recently watched a TH-cam video where they said one of the Etsy rules about mockups is that if you use POD, the main photo must be an actual mockup from the POD company. Is that true? I couldn't find information about it. Thanks for a great informative video!
When we need to take pictures of the items, we order them as samples right? We have to pay for them? Is their any other way to get them for free or is this the only way? And do you prefer pics of actual items or mockups?
I just made my first order. How long will it take before I can see it in my checking account? Should I wait until the customer pays before I send the item to their home?

Hey dear i would like to know while pricing the product or listing on etsy shall i add shipping cost or on Etsy there any other tab to add shipping cost ? Like the print provider option. When i checked with Etsy customer service they were telling me that in the main price i should not put shipping costs as on Etsy they have a print provider option there i need to edit all information like shipping cost, approx delivery date , printing partner etc. please guide.
Thanks hannah, Just started yesterday on Printfy and Etsy, I have now 6 listing :) I hope it work, but my question is, would it work without promotion, or the promotion is a must, and do I pomote on etsy itself or Printfy, am still lil confused about it :(
hey I have a question. when I check printify transactions, it says I pay for production costs and shipping. I thought the buyer pays for shipping. Can you explain this please?@@hannahebeling
But I suppose Shopify is best to consider it you are looking to start an E-commerce store and on squarespace you will need to always upgrade to be able to do somethings
Etsy pays daily so it doesn't really matter if you get charged for the product the same day unless you're dead broke. Your information should be accurate in such a video. Etsy doesn't hold your money unless you have the option to get paid monthly selected. There is an option to get paid daily that you can choose.
You can get paid more often down the road, but for many new shops Etsy puts a “hold” on their payment until they are more established, so it can be a while until you get paid.
BEWARE OF PRINTIFY!!!! I had to refund a buyer for a $250 order of greeting cards because Taylor, their printer screwed up the layout AND shorted the buyer 70 envelopes. The refused to refund me for the cost because they wanted a "video" of ALL the cards with the missing envelopes showing! The buyer sent me a picture and a message but this was not enough for Printify "per their article". On another order, they also sent a buyer a design I don't even make but did not refund me for this mistake either!

I appreciate the info thanks! I'm trying to research how to get a Etsy shop going with Printify as I already have a few dozin shirt designs.

Same here. Made like 20+ sales since last November but paid more money to Etsy for ads & fees.

hey not that its been a month since you posed this comment, how is it going? and what are your thoughts on the profit margins? is it worth it?
Thank U Hannah
one question though ( Does shopify and printify integration keep the money from each sale and we have to pay for the costs up front?)
Never understood why they create these videos and not answer questions
ill definitely try that, thanks!
Thanks for the breakdown
very helpful, worth the watch
Thank you, really helped me!
Does Printify ship the product direct to customers if I sell them on Etsy store? I don’t get to see the finished product?
Yes, they ship directly!

Shopify works the same way ?
Any company you recommend for just plain solid t-shirts?
Have you thought about printiful?
@@SegunOlarewaju-yc2vz I think pintful doesn't allow plain tshirts?-
or am i missing something?
Can I just use printify and sell on my own website? I go through squarespace but want to add print on demand items
Yes you can
