I find it hard to think that your kids can take care of you and their family in America. They have jobs and goals they want to reach too so if they have to watch you when you can’t walk or use the bathroom anymore it’s super stressful for them. When I can’t walk anymore I would never make my children take care of me. Id go to an elderly home so they don’t have this stress on them.
We raise and take care of our children so they can have a good future, and should love them unconditionally. Not wanting something in return. The daughter in law should have know better to marry into a non Christian family if she truly have so much faith into Christ. She should however respect you and love you regardless and show the love of Christ, not like she is doing.
Like you said, you are getting older, and will die. You cannot give life or change your future. You know why we all die and we can’t control it? It’s because there is a God. And no you’re not God lol. You were the door for your children to come into this world but you didn’t give them life. If they lost an eye or broke a leg and came back can you make them a new one? No. Be blessed you have children and they are taking care of you. Don’t think so negative and expect so much.

I think out older Hmong generation is expected for the younger generation to take care of them like the older days on Laos. This country is operated on money only. Everyone had bills to pay and can’t be there for our parents as they wanted so they became depressed. All I can say is that the parents and the children need to have better communications. Our religions should not be obstacle in taking of our parents. Each parties should not hold grudges against the other party. I don’t know exactly what happened because only heard one side but some of the actions the second daughter-in-law did was wrong. She took care of her mother-in-law with pay but won’t do anything extra. Family should help each other. Doesn’t matter if you get pay or not.
