The question to ask yourself before watching, reading, listening to any source of info is "Do I need it?". If the answer is No then switch it off. If the answer is Yes then ask you why? Once you"ve the Why clear get the info in. Once there ask you the questions "Is it true? Why is it true?", is it fact based or authority based? Have you experienced the fact yourself? Once the fact is acknowledged to be true, ask you "Who benefits from me knowing this info? Who is financially behind this info? How could I use this info to improve my health, happiness, wealth?" And ask you " Who is financially behind the opposite rethoric? Who benefits from the opposite rethoric?" This way the info overload will stop and you'll be clear about who benefits from the information age. And you will see most of the info out there is pure noise. Unplug from noise sources.
I agree. We don't need majority of the things we come across in the media. Another key question to ask which can unplug us further is, "whoever is behind this infomation, do they have my best interest at heart?". Nine times out of ten, the answer is no so we need to take a step back and look for those people, communities and organisations that actually do genuinely care about us and our personal interests. Listen to them. Don't listen to anyone else. Think for yourself. Only then can you use the information age to your advantage and liberate yourself. Thanks for your insight Emmanuel!
Negative Consequences of Information Age:
1. Distraction (Partial Attention)
2. Information Overload
3. Misinformation
No. That's one variable thinking. What you're correctly referring to is abuse of the Information Age by unregulated, rampant capitalism.
Thank you for the wonderful words that you share with us
Dude really used the famoud "distraction dance" animation to prove a point regarding the decay in attention spans, impressive indeed
