As a long time LEGO and Nintendo fan, I have forever been considering how I'd make Samus or Link in Lego. Your approach to Samus is pretty good, though I'd have used the football shoulder pads and a red version of that one helmet from Rock Raiders if I could, but I think it only exists in dark Grey, but I may be mistaken. Link is a difficult one, but I had some ideas. I respect your decision to avoid making him, but I still would have liked to see it.
just to flex, here's a tutorial on how to make Cloud(ff7), Captain Falcon, Pit, and Ganondorf Cloud: tennis player's hair, mean face (yellow), black legs, tech girls arms, nya(ninja)'s torso. (or what ever torso works for you) Captain Falcon: body and legs from the robot from lego movie, nightwing's head, kite man's helmet. Pit: luke's (old) body and legs, Emmett's head, jay's hair and white wings. Ganondorf: body and legs from the brown mandolorian, darth vaders head, orange hair and brown cape. and for the twilight princess ver. use malgus (flipped) torso,black arms and legs.
