Seems like even Salim sir was a bit nervous around Rahman sir. Also, after watching so many AR Rahman interviews, I have figured out that he has a very sharp and underrated sense of humor. People sometimes tend to overlook it since he comes across as a serious person just like he is a serious musician, but he is actually a chilled-out and fun person outside his work. Just my observation and opinion.
Gr8 interview, and contrary to AR's views here, yes we die hard fans definitely want the 90's styled sounds of Bombay, Roja, Rangeela, back irregardless of where technology and the film industry is presently What is passing as music today can never compare to the brilliant compositions of the yesteryears.
I agree I felt Rahman really isn’t gauging the audience’s taste well..not just old listeners even new audience will sit enraptured for a song like Kehna hi Kya. This interview is from 2015 maybe his thoughts have evolved since then..
@@vishnuteja7522 Everything has devolved from his sounds, to the mix/ mastering process to the use of 'vocalists' of today. The common denominator of all his outstanding work was Sridhar. Sadly 99% of that magic is lost & gone in his music today.
@@gopinathbalakrishnan7390 Unfortunately no. Only a very few of his compositions and productions are good today but gets ruined by the choice of present vocalists. Also the creation process of his music is now different including mixing & mastering which can never sound the same since his engineer Sridhar passed away. I no longer listen or play any recent Bollywood music on a whole due to many of these factors as well. AR's best music like most of Bollywood remains in the past.
