  • This is the story of the living history program at Philmont Scout Ranch, consisting of more than 214 square miles near Cimarron, New Mexico.
Each summer, staffers disperse into the Sangre de Cristo Mountains to reenact rich history that took place along the Santa Fe trail. From mountain men and loggers to miners and railroaders, the staffers dive into their characters creating an immersive backpacking experience shared by more than 22,000 campers every summer.
Owned and operated by the Boy Scouts of America, Philmont Scout Ranch has served over one million participants since 1939.
Shot and produced by Kreable Young and Mitchell Thomas
Original music "Back Home Blues" by Sam Anderson

What's better than going to Philmont? Going twice in the same year. Loved it.

I was at Philmont 50 years ago and it was the greatest adventure of my life as a kid.

Best video on the ranch's channel yet! Very impressed with the work of this video and i've been missing Philmont ever since the day we got off the trail. Can't wait to go back in 2017 and make another film!
