  • There were quite a number of issues on this oldie from the 70ties that I did not expect.

I have never seen a vertical cassette mechanism like that. Neat piece of vintage hifi. Good to see it working top notch!

Super! Another one back in the lineup! 👍🏻 just a couple of months ago I also restored one of this, it is on my channel, now it pleases its owner with its sound. 🎶 Very interesting, early decks, technical-mechanical solutions, transitional stage, borrowed from reel recorders. A lot of shortcomings that were overcome over the years. The position of the cassette is interesting, but that's all, later everyone gave up on it, because such a position causes additional noise and detonation, but this model has a relatively simple solution to prevent it.

Many thanks. Your video really helped me. My capstan belt had perished to a gooey mess. In your equipment, there is a bracket missing, which is used to reinforce the capstan wheel cross-bar, (the bit you remove to replace the belt). You can see where the 2 mounting holes are, to the right of the fuse (6min30sec mark). The upper part of the bracket screws on to the upper part of the capstan crossbar. The omission of this bracket may have exacerbated your wow and flutter issues. Nevertheless, your impressive skill returned the deck to as new (if not better) performance.

Hi I have the same deck that plays slow .. is it possible to adjust the speed with a screw on the motor or another way?.. thanks .. I saw in your video that you opened a hole to the motor to lubricate it? Thanks
