Shane Willard, love how he pulls the word out breaks it down. Puts the original meaning to the time it was written. Also why it was written and to whom it was meant for the time it was written. There needs to be more of this kind of teaching in more places, we need to remove the fear-based teachings that is still happening in a lot of areas. Would be great if there is a school or university set up with this teaching. To have him duplicated to be out there to show the love peace and joy to the rest of the world.
Shane Willard, it is Awsome on how he pulls the word out breaks it down, ads the historical context behind it, we should have a school or university with this style of learning
I watched and listened to Shane Willard preach to Bible school students in Durban, South Africa some years ago. This man, God bless him, made me fall inlove with Jesus all over again. Even the bible began to be less attacking. I was married to a Pastor that used the bible to “keep me in line”. Very interesting times but coming to those sessions saved my relationship with God, though on the last day i had a car accident on my way and asked the paramedics to just take me to church on a stretcher. Of course they didn’t 😂
The letter from that woman is interesting because I felt the opposite after hearing Shane. Haha! I was afraid to read the Bible for fear of interpreting it wrong from all the sermons I heard through the eighties and nineties that weren't quite right. And to steal a line from yoda, I have to "Unlearn what I have learned." But with the help of Shane and listening to you, Larry and Jonathan, I realise that I don't have to take large 'bites' of the Bible, I can 'nibble' at it, so to speak. In other words, I don't have to read long passages or whole chapters to feed my need. I can read a bit here and a bit there (Of course, without making the mistake of missing the context of the culture and history of the time it was written). Anyhoo, a bit of a rant there. Bless you.
