We needed some new windows for our house so called a company who sent a rep. Now, first off, i don't suffer fools. Guy came round, i invited him in and the first thing he said to me and my wife was 'could you please take a seat'. To which i replied something along the lines of 'this is my house do not tell me to sit down in it'. And with that i could actually visibly see him deflate, it was a picture and i'd already made my mind up i wouldn't take his windows if they were for free. Gave me a ridiculous price, and said 'i'll call my manager', yes, he actually said it. 30 seconds later he was walking down my garden path.

The yes or no is a sales short angle. They put you in a position where you have to answer that question. Then they do it again, and again. The more yesses they get the closer they get to a sale untill it becomes difficult for you to say no. Typical sales techniques. There are regulations in which alarms are installed maintained and monitored sales men have to actually design a systems installation no matter if it is a house or an industrial building, just flogging a cheap nasty alarm and sticking detectors anywhere is completely non complaint and if its monitored its also illegal
