    Great sermon.
Although, this name was first mentioned in 1Samuel 1 VS 3 when Elkanah went to Silhoh to make a sacrifice but it was first used by Hannah in 1Samuel 1vs 11
“Hannah was in deep anguish, crying bitterly as she prayed to the Lord. And she made this vow: “O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, if you will look upon my sorrow and answer my prayer and give me a son, then I will give him back to you. He will be yours for his entire lifetime, and as a sign that he has been dedicated to the Lord, his hair will never be cut.””
    ‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭1‬:‭10‬-‭11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I'd have to disagree on the 1st point is that the Giant didnt force Israel to dependence on God. They didnt depend on God. He also didnt force David to dependence. David was already dependent on God in his life. Thats why there was no hesitation. The Israelites only responded in praise after seeing God slay Goliath. I would even venture to say they never actually responded in dependence.
