  • One of the worst feelings is failure, but not understanding the reason behind why you failed is even more frustrating. In a social context, this may be trying to talk to people, but getting rejected repeatedly. We get depressed, even more anxious, and hate ourselves more.
Here, I'll talk about one of the possible reasons for repeated failure.

At 38 years old I can't find one thing that I made work. The answer is simply that I'm not good at anything. I failed at marriage, jobs, sports, music, I even failed to produce healthy children. I've never stopped trying my best. I never gave up and I kept trying. Until now. There is simply no point in trying anymore I gave it my all and failed at being alive. I am a failure and there's nothing I can do to change that.

Sounds really tough. I'm not trying to be discouraging here, but sometimes hard doesn't always get you the result you want. For me, I know that I can try extremely hard but not be able to become a decent violinist. Effort matters but talents matters too. If this is the path that you choose and you don't want to give up, sometimes you will have to struggle very hard. However, if you know that this is a mismatch for you, you might want to change directions. I can't make your decision for you, but take some time to examine if this is worth it.

My whole life I have failed. Whenever they say 2 percent of people will fail this class, I know inevitably that will be me. I’m sick and tired of never tasting happiness, pride in myself as a man, accomplished, and most importantly PEACE! Peace in my own mind, instead of constantly reliving my failures , seeing the people who put in half the effort pass and move on with their great lives while I sit here and stew in my anger and depression. There have been times when I tutor the people who pass but then I fail during the tests. I have failed for 36 years, I work harder than my peers and even help them in their weaknesses only to lose again. What’s worst is the pity they have for me. They don’t verbalize it but we all sense it.

I keep trying and trying my very best every single day and yet... I started my research internship two months ago and I am currently working on two projects. I am expected to tabulate and plot the data out using a software i am not very familiar with all on my own.
On top of that, because I do not have much prior experience when it came to research, this internship is taking a huge toll on me, mainly due to the pressure of being a Masters student and also the fact that I am being left on my own in interpreting the results obtained from the experiments. And because of that i keep making tonnes of mistakes especially during the weekly research meeting where my supervisor would be there to listen to any form of experimental updates. I even embarrassed myself in front of all the members of the research group including my supervisor when i gave my interpretation of the results and it was completely off the mark, ie. not what the experiment's aim was initially. The PhD candidate that i am currently working with had to rescue the utterly embarrassing situation by explaining why in the first place we did the experiment.
God... I'm a Masters student and yet i don't even have the necessary analytical and critical thinking skills to perform in an internship.

Then it is your strategy. Same applies to school as does a start up. As I told my own subscribers. I have known people who fail at everything they attempt. Repeatedly begin start ups that go under. Pursue visions that never materialize. Many times this isn't because the person is a loser--they just have bad strategy. They leap off the cliff with self belief, having no idea if there is water below or if they will land face first into the jagged rocks. They just think things will work out. Careful planning far in advance is the key. Where is the location of your business going to be? How many competitors are there? Is your degree marketable? Is it only marketable in the city and you want to live in a small town? People who don't think about these things are the ones who will continually think the universe is against them as they fail over and over. As the saying goes: the war is won before the battle even begins. Hope this helps someone out there--Charles.
