Very interesting! I was a practing Oriental Meditation, and someone tolld me that the first Christians had contemplative practicies very like Oriental Meditation, and by reading the Philokalia i became a Christian!!! Many thanks to the Saints that made this work avaiable to us all!!!

As a Catholic I can say that I really wished we had a man like this, at the head of our Church.

We Catholics have. You just haven't 'met' him yet...... You can't know the people you haven't met nor can you judge them.

I agree and have asked myself the same question. There are many things I agree with.

Some of us do. Those of us who are blessed to be Ukrainian Greek Catholics have a saintly, wise, fatherly Major Archbishop (we consider him our Patriarch, and hoping that now because of the war His Beatitude Sviatoslav Shevchuk will be officially declared Patriarch by the Universal Pontiff).

Dear brothers, where are the remaining lectures that continue from this introduction? Our Father's words are sweeter than honey. I can listen to him all day long.

Is it me or did he avoid saying any "stall" words such as "uh" or "umm" as most of us would?

Loved this! I would happily pay to hear the rest of the series, but I don’t want a set of disks. God bless you! ❤

I don't remember where I read it but the comment went something like this, "The Romans live in a world of right angles and the Greek lives in a world of spirals."

Praying without ceasing is not continuous prayer....it means never giving up in prayer but praying and having a readiness to prayer.

      Disagree.
Your nous will pray for you at some point in your journey.
This is why you will 'never be ceasing in prayer'.
      It's not metaphorical.

Why is it the way of a Pilgrim leads us to believe The Philokalia is the Writings of the Desert Fathers???

I dont know if you answer questions here but Im wondering why isnt Fear among the 7 deadly sins or among Evagrius Ponticus 8 evil thoughts? Is it under some of the 7(8) ? I dont understand under which if so. If you answer with your thoughts or solution Id appreciate it.
