  • With O'Donnell in a cage and Helm in a bubble, we figured it was time to ask the guys which one they prefer.

    My preferences
Cage if its outdoors, I played inline 4 years in H.S. and it was all outdoors. In the winter (late Nov-Feb ) it does get sunny and warm in the daytime so it will get hot so cage has more airflow. But impairs the most vision and I wore rec specs googles underneath which fog a lot during practice and gameplay. When its night/evening its still around 50F sometimes Mid 40F if its past 8pm.
Bubble in Ice rinks indoors, I still get the protection and no vision impairment like the cage. But I never tried it in H.S. cause I just never had it and hockey stores aren't available at the time near me. I use Bubble all the time and It kind of feels like HALO or something SciFi. Just the feeling of it is great and its more comfortable than cage. Not tight or pressure points on the sides of my head.
Visor: If I am going to stick time not a game or just skating at the rink for fun public skate time, or downhill skating on streets. Just looks cool
Bare face: I don't do this with my hockey helmets, just my bicycle helmet.
