  • A short walk in pouring rain along a section of the national trail Glyndŵr's Way where it runs alongside the Clywedog Reservoir. The reservoir is just a few miles from the market town of Llanidloes in Mid Wales. It was created when the River Clywedog, a tributary of the River Severn, was dammed in 1967 to regulate the flow of water into the river system and help prevent flooding further downstream.
The Clywedog Reservoir is popular with visitors to the area who enjoy the spectacular views - whether sight-seeing, bird-watching, walking, fishing, or cycling. Sailing, canoeing and windsurfing are also available from the Clywedog Sailing Club which features at the end of this walk, although visitors to the area who are not members will need to contact the club for further information - clywedogsailin...
This walk was made in August 2020.
Clywedog Reservoir is managed by Hafren Dyfrdwy. You can find out more about the area here: www.hdcymru.co...
