In my opinion, the original television series of the Addams Family was perfection and will always be the best Addams version. Still there have been enjoyable aspects about some of the other Addams versions and judging from this trailer, this looks like it could be worth watching. The actress playing Wednesday looks good and I like the music and production design and the references to Edgar Allan Poe.
This could very well be a case of Beauty and the Beast. What if the monster turns out to be the cute boy Wednesday is crushing on or her sweet roommate? Maybe even Pugsley!
Despite the excellent point about being yourself in this movie, they never quite explain what that is, nor point out that there can be things about you that should not be considered a part of you. They never point out that there can be bad differences and good differences, and that not all different is good. They don't explain by what code you should be walking when 'being yourself', because you obviously don't just get to do whatever you want. It's true, i don't let others define me, i let God define me, and if others speak for God and speak for goodness and the truth, whether they believe in God or not, then that's when i'll take their advice.
Your expectations are unrealistic and asking way too much out of something that isn't supposed to be THAT complicated. "Wednesday" is obviously just a show on Netflix, solely for entertainment purposes, about a totally fictional character. And, judging by the last part of your comment, you are incredibly well-versed in totally fictional characters.

christina will always be Wednesday but this new girl jenna pretty much nailed it too and Fred is a good casting choice as is the rest
