Lucy, I spent 2 months in the UK last summer, not far from the place where your farm is (Saffron Walden). They usually add the word 'down', like - She is down in the house. Down there, down here. Why do you add this 'down'?

Hi Lucy, I'm from Japan. In Japanese we don't say "you have a sweet tooth". Similar expression is 「甘いものに目がない」. This Japanese phrase literally means "you don't have any eyes for sweets" but this actually means "you like sweets very very much". Isn't it interesting and a little bit funny?

Polish food it's the best! But gherkins are really delicious and they aren't so caloric 😊 And I think that we don't have a Polish version for idiom 'to have a sweet thooth'.. 😉

That's exactly what we say in Norwegian too, "Å ha en høne å plukke med noen" which directly translates to "To have a chicken to pluck with someone". I'm currently studying German and I find it so cool and surprising how similar our languages are, both when it comes to words and idioms. Sehr lustig! :)

Lucy I am preparing for my MBA entrance exam next year and of the three subjects including Logical reasoning and data interpretation, Quant and Verbal Abilities. Out of these 3 subjects i find Verbal abilities to be the most difficult one as I am very weak in English...
