    Isn't the MC12 a supercar?? Also gorgeous even more so than a MC20 . ITALIAN'S know how to style a beautiful sports car and the engine sounds sensational as well.

      The MC12 was not really "built by Maserati". It was a Ferrari Enzo in disguise and there were only 50 of them. So maybe more of a hypercar.

      Well if Chris is the arbiter of who gets credit for building what, my 4c is also a Maserati. They built it with Dallara ‘s help in their factory with Alfa parts. Since no one I know thinks the 4c should be considered a Maserati, I’m going to give Maserati the MC12. It’s got their badge on it, like my 4c had Alfa’s, and Ferrari and Maserati where partners at the time. Also like Alfa and Maserati now.

    "There is nothing else like this on sale!" Um, C8 Corvette Z06?? You don't have to like the American stealth fighter styling to appreciate the most powerful NA flat-plane crank V8 ever made ... at half the price of an MC20. Isn't that nothing like what is on sale today?

    • @BleedForTheWorld
      @BleedForTheWorld ปีที่แล้ว

      It really is too bad that the C8's rear design is compromised due to someone at the design or engineering team insisting on fitting two golf bags back there. I didn't even know the MC20 had rear compartment space until now and its rear fenders look very good in comparison to the flat body that the Corvette has. It's such a large contrast to the older, proper looking Stingray designs of the 60s and 70s and even the C6. I just don't know what they were thinking because it still doesn't look good.

    • @dash-ryan
      @dash-ryan ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BleedForTheWorld I hear you. But styling can be subjective. I agree the MC20 looks better, but based on reactions I get driving around my C8 convertible here in Canada, I get a lot of positive attention. I don't notice the rear of mine as being very large. Perhaps it appears different in person. Oh, yeah, the MC20 is packing a smaller V6 as opposed to a larger V8 like the Vette, so it can cram in a trunk easier.

      My 718 Spyder, with it's 991 GT3 front end suspension is a wonderful smooth reliable car. However, initial
      under steer and front end washing out along with tendency to body roll at quicker turn-in speeds are a
      disappointment. Safely increasing toe-out help some what, but the tendency is always there. I can imagine
      that with the GTS, equipped with less track focused front suspension, the problem can only be worse. MY
      Maserati MC20, driven back to back literally feels like it dives and locks into fast curves, as if the tires fall into
      slots.

      Acceleration character is pleasingly different from any other car I have owned. (Taycan Turbo S, Ferrari FF, Audi R8 V10 plus, Radical RXC 650 R, Mercedes amg gtc, Porxhe GTS 991.2, 4.5 Deman Stroker Porchse 718 Spyder, Cadillac CTS V Black wing, Ariel Atom 3, Shelby GT 350, Modified Mitsubishi EVO 10 with Garret turbocharges et.). The MC20 is both a torque and a boost monster. Not only is there massive torque throughout the rev range starting very low, but on top of the torque , waves of boost instantly bring it to even higher scarily fun (also useful at a track in the right hands) speeds. Add to that a little adjusting jiggliness and wheel slip before always hunkering down (compliments of unique chasss/suspension/aero dynamics), and you have a fast and fun car like no other. It quickly and confidently locks itself into a fast speed curve where by comparison the Porsche cars I drove and drive seem to wash out and must be reigned back accordingly. Ergo, ...'no 911 could possibly hope to do" . Launches are hampered by a hesitation most likely programmed in as a protective measure when considered the high torque.boost.compression ratio and transmission limits. But on the street, past that hesitation, the car accelerates out in front front of the pack with a stress-less ease; and on the trackthis hesitation is irrelevant. The MC 20' driving character signature has three components: savage acceleration at speed, initial adjustments followed by competent placement of all that power to the ground (accentuating the savagery),and feel (you feel the tires bite at turn-in, and the rear wheels beginning to slip at high boost) before settling in) This signature, I consider more valuable than bragging rights of supreme speeds achieved from stand still, and engine note symphony. On aesthetics alone, I never forget to look at it's beauty when I approach it and walk away from it.
