Trails has a trend of setting up the most hype battle just before the final boss.
    Loewe for Sky
    Arios for Crossbell
    McBurn for Cold Steel

Even amongst the Enforcer's, McBurn is an enigma. Having claimed to have been possessed around roughly the same time as the Orbal Revolution (50 Years ago), despite his appearance this would likely put him in his 70's at least. Being Enforcer No. 1, meant he met with the Grand Master long before Loewe did.

CS4 just added so much complexity to McBurn, before then I only looked at him as an overpowered antagonist who's always itching for a fight. Looking forward to see where McBurn goes from here.

Well they did a great job at hyping him up, Ishmelga is the great bad guy of the arc, but the McBurn fight just implicate so much thing for the lore of the series, basically confirming the existence of other worlds with potential monsters just as strong as him, this fight and the last words of Mariabell and Campanella are basically hinting that Ouroboros and the Grand Master plan is just on a bigger scale than Zemuria.
      Also Spoiler for Hajimari :

@@Averi0 Nah, it's flat out implied he was only pushing them to push himself. He doesn't bother with his shield out the gate, and if a shield is the apex of his power, then something's off. This is a guy whose power is flat out stated to be comparable to a calamity like the Salt Pale. If the apex of that power's a barrier, then he's being undersold in the battle. None of Class 7 end up crippled from any of the parts of his power Emma can't fully cope with (hell, she CAN still cope with him) like Victor Arseid did from CS2.
The fact is, McBurn is holding back. He isn't unleashing his full calamitous power. And even when we beat him/bust his bubble, he just reverts and casually speaks to us like he hasn't even broken a sweat. Remember, when a fight is meant to give a character a run for their money, they at least sound strained in voice afterwords, and if it's an intense struggle they're all panting like their lungs depend on it. Remember Sky The Third? Remember when Kevin's crew 'beats' Cassius only for it to look like we were the ones who lost? That's exactly what I mean.
McBurn has not, and probably won't for a long time, show his absolute best. We'll see that at the epitome of the Zemurian mythos, when the truth comes out for real.

Seriously though, I hated this character so much. Always holding back, going after tough battles to ignite his fire for battle is such a lame excuse for motivation. That all changed when I reached this battle. Now I need to play Hajimari and Kuro to (hopefully) know the truth.

@@yubelsgaurd Trails series has this habit lol of making a character look bland then suddenly become extremely interesting. I went through something similar with Joshua in the sky series. In the first game he was kinda meh to me, until the very end then by the end of the second game he became my favorite character

To be fair his lust for stronger opponent make perfect sense now, he had no memories of his past so his motivation was getting his memories, he knows that to regain his memories he needed to go into his Demon Form long enough for his memories to resurface, but he is actually surprisingly not a bad guy or at least not reckless as he knows that if he goes in his Demon form he would have cause massive destruction around which clearly isn't something he wants to do (in fact that's a common character trait of him, he seems completly oppose to needless destruction, like he state in Orbis Tower in CS3 for instance he could have easily burn the entire tower to the ground), and to that end he needed opponents strong enough to stand against his demon form and hold their own long enough to get his memories back.

CS4 PC release when? Been playing this game in release order for the last 15 or so years, finishing 8 games from Sky FC to CS3 on PC and Falcom keeps pulling this bs. The one who makes their business decision deserves to be fired

March/April 2021. The reason its not on PC yet is because the JP market vastly prefers PS4 so NISA has to make a PC port from scratch.

Late response but know that Falcom doesn't develop for PC. They haven't since 2008. (Zwei 2 being their last pc developed title.) All the PC falcom games from ys 7 to trails of cold steel 4 have been developed by the western publishers who localized those games. So if you want to know WHY hajimari, isn't coming out till 2023, simultaneous ps4, switch and pc release is why.
