    4 minutes in and you explained the Pen Tool FLAWLESSLY! I've seen A LOT of videos and this is the OSCAR of Illusrator tutorial on the Pen's function. You demonstrate the point about "not inherenting" the curve line 3 times w/ variety on that issue which is how "real teaching lessons" are presented. Thanks for EXCELLENCE!!!!!! - (Former teacher and award-winning broadcast producer.)

    Cool. I watched many Illustrator tutorials but this one is special. Its interesting to see how people from different industries utilise Illustrator according to their needs. A simple T-shirt one may say but I learnt a lot. Thanks.

    You might want to try Offset Path to create a perfectly adjusted and placed stitch line reflecting hem or neck lines

    • @SewHeidi
      @SewHeidi  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Offset path works great and I have some tutorials on that, but unless it’s a closed path I find it easier to do this method than create the offset around the entire path and have to delete half of it. Personal preference :)

    This video was a great help and it got me started. I have traced a denim shirt, but I'd really like to know how I can create the back side of the garment without having a picture of the back to trace.Any advice?

    Hello! This is so helpful, but is there any way you can colour in the sketch after this point?

    • @LexEshe
      @LexEshe 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes , before you add stitch lines or the lines creating movement make the shirt a live paint shape. click on the shirt , in the window panel select object, scroll down to live paint and make

    Hi Heidi. Have struggled to find an answer for this question on your website or tutorials so hope you can help.
    Are fashion templates/traced images required to draw different neck line styles? I.e spaghetti straps, off-shoulder and bra-let/strapless, sleeveless type garments?
    I can't draw free hand so wondered how I go about drawing these types of styles on illustrator.
    Thank you so much!

    Great tutorial!
    Would be good is you could link you details in the description, even if you make up a template that you can paste.

    • @NicoleKLyon

      Hi Heidi, thanks for replying.
      Most youtubers have some general information in their description box and it normally appears below information about the video. The information is normally website, social media, merchandise links etc and many youtubers have a template they copy and paste in.
      It makes it so much easier for anyone watching your videos to click the link (especially on mobile devices) and be taken directly to whatever they want to visit, instead of pausing or rewatching the video to get the info, then opening up chrome and the typing it in. I know it sounds lazy but it ensures your viewers can find you instantly and hassle free.
      It just something to consider.
