Out of all the videos from scam city, it's the only one I can remember that 2 people came to a tourists rescue. Increased my stock in Hong Kong culture.

It really pisses me off that he kept asking "Are you a secret cop?" When he kept insisting not to say that. Accusing somebody to be a cop can get them killed in some situations or countries. Especially a "secret cop" like a spy.

I'm sure monks aren't really supposed to ask for anything, they usually get offered money/food etc without asking

Here in NYC those monks are so annoying and ruthless. They chase people down if they don’t give a donation for little Buddhist pictures or string bracelets. They are mean if you don’t exactly as they want. They will ask to see your hand and if you give it to them they gently hold your wrist and put the bracelet on. After that if you try moving or getting they hold on to your wrist even harder and say you owe them money. Moral of the story, monks shouldn’t want anything they are Buddhists and Buddhists believe in getting rid of everything! 😂

Hong Kong is a good place. People dont see you as a bag of cash to be wacked, they want you to think Hong Kong is a good place.

Hong Kong people are very respectful to be fair with a strong sense of moral right and wrong.
When I was over there the locals were always happy to help.

Had a similar experience in Lourdes, France but with some ‘homeless priests’, thankfully before handing them some money I was stopped by some locals. Watch yourself out there people!

It's easy to see whether they are fake monks or not. True Buddhist monks are vegetarian and won't buy expensive goods.
However, they still need money for their accomodation and meal but to say that monks can't beg for donations is bullshit. How are they going to survive without food?

They aren't. Hong Kong was a former British colony, handed over back to China(Mainland) back in 1997. It just so happens to be that Hong Kong is back under Chinese govern, and not British Rule.
