Not that it made a difference to this solve-but I feel like this is one of the first you didn't try spinning to solve! I'd be curious to see the internals to make it work like that....though not enough to break one apart of course!
Bought this a week or so ago and have been unable to solve it. I too tried the same steps but with no success, including checking the bag. So happy to see your post, I tried your method but have found mine still refuses to open! On Boaz’s page it states the Loco lock is “a 2-step puzzle lock”. Obviously it appears you did something else (accidentally) before the final solve. Otherwise nice work 👍🏻
