I have to say, the evolution of women’s goalkeeping is phenomenal! If you watched the World Cup 10 years ago for instance, every shot was a goal! This is just really great to see!
The Jamaican goalie, the younger one, she was really good as well. I wish they had played her during their match against Australia instead of going with experience because she would have made the difference. But I guess they wanted the other veteran GK to get the experience of the WC.

This requires a combination of nerves of steel, extraordinary physical & mental conditions and superb reflexes. Also, let's face it, a little bit of luck (or a lot?) doesn't hurt!!
As you can see, the girls are perfectly capable to defend man-sized goals. Just needs to have the combination of proper coaching plus encouraging the tall, athletic girls to start playing football instead of volleyball.
I've said it before, but I think it bears repeating: given the current level of female teams, I can't understand why soccer isn't a mixed sport. The astonishing saves shown in this video should suffice to make my point.

In the Round of 16 France vs Brazil, Bouhaddi makes a save at @0:51 in the Fifa TV highlights on TH-cam. It touches her glove which then hits the crossbar. Also I know the video title is Goalkeeper saves, but in that same match, the French Defender Griedge Mbock makes a goal-line clearance. :D
You basically don't have a fucking frame of the italian goalkeeper. Apart that one against Brazil. But of course who cares about italian team? P.s. arguing about best save, there was one hers too who basically matched the one Buffon made in 2006.
