    I would like to share my sincere and hearty thanks to Anthony Johnson and these videos which have proved invaluable to helping me achieve that great milestone, passing my driving test! I watched the three reverse manouvre videos LOADS and they really helped me to pass - on my fifth test. Watch them all - I am confident they'll help you as much as they helped me!

    Just wanna say i passed my driving test yesterday, i got given the left sweeping reverse round a corner, in my opinion the hardest manouvere. I've had 3 driving instructors, none of them succeeded in teaching me how to do this manouvere properly so when I got given this manouvere in my test i PANICKED but then i remembered this video and the really simple and straightforward way you explained everything and i followed your exact technique and i passed!!!! thank you Johnson you're a beast

    Thank you so much for your video. During my practical exam I have been asked to perform "Left Reverse". On this video you have stated that don't keep looking at the left mirror because they might fail you for not knowing what's happening around you. Therefore when i perform this maneuver in the practical exam, i remembered this video so i did the left reverse according to the way you have taught in this video, as a result I have passed the test with 8 minor faults! Thank you SO MUCH!!!!

    This has been really helpful to me, thankyou! I failed my last test on this manouvere. I've always struggled with the way my instructor has taught me when to start turning, + how to adjust the car so I don't come in too tight or too wide. Unfortunately on my test, I came in very wide and I was concentrating so hard on adjusting the car, doing my observations slipped my mind, and a car was sat waiting for me that I hadn't seen.
    The full turn method seems like this could really help me, so thanks!

    I almost feel like I should be paying for these videos. They're so helpful. I've got a driving lesson tomorrow and I'll be doing the left reverse corner thing. I had watched one video saying to use a half turn but the fact that you mentioned spatial awareness (which is a weakness of mine) has made me want to try with full turns first. We'll see how it goes. Thank you!

    thank you for this - this is the manouvere I have the most difficulty with. I always hit the curb. Now I am learning in an automatic and it is so much easier..
    It would be great if you could show some videos about roundabouts.

  • @driveJohnsonsUK
    @driveJohnsonsUK  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    You would normally take a shunt when you have misjudged the kerb and you are too close or too far away to carry on going backwards without effecting other traffic or going up the kerb. So,you would go into first gear and then move forwards using clutch control.So bring the clutch up slowly to it's biting point to go forwards and push the clutch down to slow down. Only brake if you have put the clutch down fully first.Keep it simple use 1st gear to move forwards slowly and reverse to go backwards

    You are one of the best instructors! Tomorrow I'll have my second driving test. When I'm doing reverse into the corner, if a vehicle comes from the back towards me and I have to stop, do I have to stay in reverse or put into neutral. My instructor says that I have to stay into reverse at all times to make drivers know that I'm reversing. (?)

    Great video! I'm taking my driving test tomorrow and I absolutely hate reversing round corner! When 'shunting', do you just release the clutch and break to let the car roll forward or by going into 1st? Also, when I turn into a another road (forwards), I sometimes go into 1st gear while turning and the car can jump when changing down. Should i sat in 1st or go into 2nd while turning slowly with the clutch in?? Thank you.. thumbs up btw :)

    hi Antony, today i had driving exam and i have failed the exam. i was failed on a mini-roundabout because examiner said i spent quite more time on giving ways to the right hand side traffic and as a result the left side traffic cannot do anything without im moving and he also said that i didn't flow the traffic in the roundabout... he also called that as a "MAJOR MISTAKE" but i don't really understand?? is that even true???? or he want me to fail????

    I received approx 4 "undue hesitation" minors for this manuevour, simply because I kept stopping my vehicle when a car came over the brow of a hill behind me....what did they want me to do....reverse into the oncoming traffic?!!!??? sometimes im confused whats expected of us in a test *facepalm* I still passed, but I was aggravated because had I do bad elsewhere those 4 minors could have seen me fail when they shouldnt have.

I guess I will change my instructor now and book kit again as soon as possible. Theory test is so easy. Finger cross next time hope.
