    Here is also a chilling example of what Envy stated about how much power the herald could wield and what the inquistion could be. See how swiftly people will bow to the herald it would be so easy for an entity like Envy to rule the world with such devotion.

      Indeed, if you die during Envy's attempts to learn about you, before you start defending the Great Hall, you get a special game over screen, where Envy takes over the world while pretending to be you.

      i never saw this. Well a taste of it you surly get, when you meet the Mages in Redcliff.

      Wow that's awesome! Very cool detail, though I think it would've been pretty difficult to die in Envy's nightmare - the enemies aren't all that threatening. Unless you can die from picking the wrong conversation options, which would be cool

      If the Great Hall falls to zero during "Champions of the Just", the templar quest, there's a second special game over depicting the remaining knights getting executed or corrupted into Red Templar monstrosities.
      There's a similarly unique game over if you die during the Mage quest, though I won't spoil what it is exactly.

    These cutscenes represent a lot of the beauty this game offers both in visuals (eager soaring over the mountains and the marching faithful) and the music both the dawn will come and the background score growing in intensity as you get closer and closer to sky hold.

    Welcome to Dragon age Inquistion. Several moments throughout this quest where they could have happily dropped a second title card. Perhaps after the "dawn will come" or upon the reveal of skyhold.

  • @Retbullgivesyouwings

    Focus abilities are basically limit breaks.
    (I have some info about focus abilities below, but I'll put them under a break if you don't want it. No spoilers, though.)
    You can get up to 2 focus abilities, and each party member has one.
    A focus ability has 3 tiers, depending on how much focus you save up, requiring a longer time to use it at a higher tier (visible by the yellow bars). Higher-tier versions have more powerful effects/longer durations/the like.
    You don't yet have the ability to use focus abilities beyond the first tier, but it will come.

    Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed this episode, and your comments and RP. I also found your comments about faith inspirational, and true.
    I LOVED this whole scene, and all these years later, still get chill bumps. In my head canon, this song is Fereldan's national anthem. I like to imagine that as important as it is to the Andrastians to spread their Chant of Light to the world, each nation has a piece that is incorporated as such. Since this was in Fereldan, and how with everyone knew the words and melody so well, I had no trouble believing it theirs. Anyway, wonderful episode.

  • @Retbullgivesyouwings
    @Retbullgivesyouwings 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Regarding the description: I agree, though it can cut both ways: for the better, and for the worse.
    In other words, faith can mean renewed hope in the darkest of circumstances (which is subjective on its own: "darkest circumstances" to one person is "shining happiness" to another), as it does here, but it can also mean entrenchment in flawed or unhelpful opinions due to self-assuredness in their validity.
    Not to start a larger debate on faith/religion: that's not my intent with this comment.

    • @ThatJ0eGuy
      @ThatJ0eGuy  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree, there's a very blurry line between keeping your faith and being stubborn in the face of new information.

  • @Retbullgivesyouwings
    @Retbullgivesyouwings 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It was discussed last episode in the comments that Corypheus appears to believe only in himself now. I would dispute this, since it relates to your conversation with Revered Mother Giselle, but I'll leave that for another day.

    • @ThatJ0eGuy
      @ThatJ0eGuy  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's how I'm think of it so far, but there is a hint that he could believe in some things he'd rather he didn't - and is just focusing on himself.

  • @Retbullgivesyouwings
    @Retbullgivesyouwings 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Couldn't Markus just use some fire magic to warm himself? Or would the energy take more out of him than the warmth would be worth?

    • @ThatJ0eGuy
      @ThatJ0eGuy  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For cinematic purposes let's go with that :P

    the shepherd lost, his home is far, look to the stars
    i think bioware snuck a mass effect reference in there
    also this scene is what changed the game for me it wen't from being a good game to a great game

    Hey Joe, one thing:
    The comments have talked a bit about some gameplay elements that tie into story objectives, not always for the better (Barris and the evershrinking time bar, the Haven townspeople and time limitations). I won't say when, but the main quests that you will find might still employ these "gameplay tying into story objectives". I won't spoil which ones, or how they work, but it's been frustrating enough for you that I figured you would want to know at least that they exist in the future.
    Basically, just be aware that similar gameplay elements that contribute to story outcomes (like Barris and the Haven townspeople) will be used in the future: I normally wouldn't tell you this, but there's been some confusion around it, and to mitigate your frustration without backseating you I thought it'd be a good idea to at least make sure you're aware of them.

    Out of curiosity what episode were you at when we warned you not to talk to solas after this quest ends before the others, was it this episode?

    • @Retbullgivesyouwings

    I really want to take that singing scene seriously, since the voice work is quite good...but the facial animations make it kind of silly, sorry.

      True it is a bit weird, I got over it quick though

  • @Dawnlit
    @Dawnlit 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes, I'm here. What ya want? x)
    Also, this comment section is getting horribly messy. Maybe time for a public service video about responding to your own comment instead of commenting several times. Or better yet waiting until the end of the video and showing restraint.

    • @lauraadams7562
      @lauraadams7562 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I will have to disagree. The more comments a video has, the better discoverability it has on TH-cam. That makes it better for Joe's channel to grow. Plus I love reading all the comments. And I know I'm not alone in that. No offense to your opinion.

    • @Dawnlit
      @Dawnlit 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      None taken. I just lose interest in the comment section after reading like three comments from the same person. Also yes, viewer interaction is a stat youtube looks for, but youtube's algorithms make literally no sense any more, so trying to cater towards that probably does nothing. Or worse than nothing if they decide to make another truly moronic change. I prefer definitely tidy over perhaps somewhat good for Joe.

    • @ThatJ0eGuy
      @ThatJ0eGuy  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I personally like it this way - and anything which helps a small channel like mine is very much appreciated. Either way I don't think it's my place, or anybody's, to dictate how they comment (having said that, I have blocked a couple of truly obnoxious people recently)

    • @Dawnlit
      @Dawnlit 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fair enough. Your word is as final as it gets.
