Interesting that Oda just puts in there that in the world of OP not everyone who is strong is either just a pirate or marine, but rather there’s random strong people who serve as possibly doctors, police, etc.
That's what I liked about the end of YuYu Hakusho when the demons are holding a tournament to pick who will be the king. Random characters we've never seen showed up that were as strong as the main characters, and in fact one of them happened to win.

I was curious about how Fujitora and Ryokugyu just suddenly showed up as admirals despite not having any background in the marines when it took decades for the others to reach their positions. But it does make sense as Akainu wanted to build up the marines as fast as possible and took shortcuts to getting powerful people to fill in any gaps in the higher ranks. He saw it as a better option than promoting the vice admirals who were nowhere near the level of strength required to become one. Also I like that not every powerful person is consigned to one group (pirates or marines) and could have just not been interested and had other positions they were in. If Kaido had never been sold out by the Vodka kingdom to the marines he probably would have ended up the same way by being in a high position in his original country.
Also remember, Kizaru’s motto is “Unclear Justice”. All his actions are also random, because he’s unclear about what he should be doing, which matches with his actions for and against his friends at Egghead.

Stronger than Luffy? Not really! As powerful Gear 5 is, it has serious stamina/time limit issues. All Kizaru needed to do is to keep exhausting Luffy until he gasses out completely into "old man" form. No haki, no energy and no physical durability from his DF, anyone can easiliy kill him.

The fight shows me something about Kizaru. This SBS proves that Kizaru would've won vs Luffy. Not because he was stronger, but dude kept playing "cat-and-mouse" vs Luffy considering Gear 5 has a time limit. Luffy is shown to dodge or take damage from Kizaru and even deal heavy ones on the Admiral (one-shots each). So I doubt Kizaru would have a chance if he went "Kaido" and fought Luffy head-on. This fight proves that you don't need brute strength alone like in Dragon Ball to win fights.

It was shown in the manga that VP confirmed for everyone to hear (maybe intentionally since he wanted to die) that if he were to be moved it would kill him faster due to internal bleeding. As he is being moved he cries out in pain and thats when Kizaru intercepts Sanji. I believe Kizaru gave the food to save Bonney, which ultimately was a success. I also believe Kizaru will leave an ally with the Strawhats when he finds out that VP survives in the other Satellites when he runs into Lilith.
Kizaru had a change of heart after he got TKO'd. There's a panel before Luffy gets the food where he thinks "Kuma... Bonney...", and then bam, Luffy suddenly gets all this food. Prior to this, I think Kizaru was committed to his duty, and he still deleted Vegapunk anyway, likely assuming it was inevitable. He and Luffy were both doing their best to fulfill their mission, neither going full-throttle against the other. I'm neither a Yonkofart or Admiralstan. I think Luffy and Kizaru are roughly equal, but neither was aiming to merk the other - just get them out of the way.

Neither was Luffy going all out. People forget that during the Lucci fight Luffy will gas out after a short time regardless of how weak the enemy is. Sentomaru for name dropping Vegapunk and Kizaru because the pacifistas can copy his laser beams. The surprise is he was actually his best friend, helped build the island, spent a solid daily six months with everyone, danced the Nika dance with all of them, was sad he had to do what he did in the end.

The crew have escaped him twice. Luffy has met Kizaru three times if you include Marineford. Luffy was powerless to stop Kizaru at Sabaody, tried to fight him at Marineford unscuessfully, and then they both stalemated at Egghead. Kizaru and Luffy are clearly linked in the story. I do not think Kizaru was meant to be the antagonist of the arc. It was always the world government. They stalemated in the fight Saturn shows up and tells all Marines to point there guns at Bonneys head a standby for the order to shoot. Kizaru wont attack Saturn himself to save Bonney but he knew if Luffy gets back in the fight there is a chance to save her. Everyone else was paralyzed and Saturn would not think twice to paralyze Kizaru so he took this opportunity. At least that is what I feel Oda was going for.

This confirms that there are two versions of gear 5, the serious one and the playful. Luffy grabbed kizaru twice, he throws him away first occasion and squished and did a powerful named attack on the second. That being said, one piece fights are the worst in any shonen manga, the author didnt draw the conquerors sparks on luffy attacks and the whole fight extend to just 15 pages . one thing I know for sure is that current luffy is stronger than kaido In wano, Kaido was in his prime, while luffy entered onigashima without his 2 major power ups that he had to learn trough getting spanked. At the end of wano, kaido was arguably still stronger than luffy and maybe egghead's luffy close the gap. Egghead's gear 5 is much stronger than the version kaido faced, for it has new techniques and at least 10 stronger named attacks, plus it's current speed to match the pika pika no mi. In wano it was his first time ever using it. However, currently Oda has given another HUGE upgrade to luffy : unlimited gear 4. The debate about luffy and kaido is now over. Even before wano's version of gear 5, on chapter 1037 kaido states : ITS been many years since someone was abble to go toe to toe with me, kaido goes on drunken mode + the second level of his híbrid form. At that time kaido was already recognizing luffy. Now we have unlimited gear 4 and a stronger gear 5. Goofy is now a whole ass island stronger than he was in Wano, so that means he could beat Kaido a thousand times over. We are not heading to the end of the series anymore, this IS the end of the series.

I was curious about how Fujitora and Ryokugyu just suddenly showed up as admirals despite not having any background in the marines when it took decades for the others to reach their positions. But it does make sense as Akainu wanted to build up the marines as fast as possible and took shortcuts to getting powerful people to fill in any gaps in the higher ranks. He saw it as a better option than promoting the vice admirals who were nowhere near the level of strength required to become one.
Also I like that not every powerful person is consigned to one group (pirates or marines) and could have just not been interested and had other positions they were in. If Kaido had never been sold out by the Vodka kingdom to the marines he probably would have ended up the same way by being in a high position in his original country.
Also remember, Kizaru’s motto is “Unclear Justice”. All his actions are also random, because he’s unclear about what he should be doing, which matches with his actions for and against his friends at Egghead.
So oda just confirmed that he wasn’t actually immobile and perception blitzed everyone in the vicinity and not only could’ve killed luffy who was completely out of it but killed Vegapunk aswell and ended the entire arc… noted

The fight shows me something about Kizaru. This SBS proves that Kizaru would've won vs Luffy. Not because he was stronger, but dude kept playing "cat-and-mouse" vs Luffy considering Gear 5 has a time limit.
Luffy is shown to dodge or take damage from Kizaru and even deal heavy ones on the Admiral (one-shots each). So I doubt Kizaru would have a chance if he went "Kaido" and fought Luffy head-on.

If you look at chapter 1124 and see the "stab" from Kizaru's perspective it shows his sword going through the gaping hole that Saturn made on Vegapunk earlier, hinting it was to stop Vegapunk's heart because he was suffering.
This is all the while Kizaru not knowing VP requested to Sanji to allow him to die, nor Sanji knowing the true intentions of Kizaru when he kicked him to make him drop VP. It was shown in the manga that VP confirmed for everyone to hear (maybe intentionally since he wanted to die) that if he were to be moved it would kill him faster due to internal bleeding. As he is being moved he cries out in pain and thats when Kizaru intercepts Sanji.
I believe Kizaru gave the food to save Bonney, which ultimately was a success. I also believe Kizaru will leave an ally with the Strawhats when he finds out that VP survives in the other Satellites when he runs into Lilith.
Kizaru had a change of heart after he got TKO'd. There's a panel before Luffy gets the food where he thinks "Kuma... Bonney...", and then bam, Luffy suddenly gets all this food.
Prior to this, I think Kizaru was committed to his duty, and he still deleted Vegapunk anyway, likely assuming it was inevitable. He and Luffy were both doing their best to fulfill their mission, neither going full-throttle against the other.

Luffy was powerless to stop Kizaru at Sabaody, tried to fight him at Marineford unscuessfully, and then they both stalemated at Egghead. Kizaru and Luffy are clearly linked in the story.
Next time they run across him will no longer be as enemies and Luffy may just invite him to ally with the crew.

This confirms that there are two versions of gear 5, the serious one and the playful. Luffy grabbed kizaru twice, he throws him away first occasion and squished and did a powerful named attack on the second. That being said, one piece fights are the worst in any shonen manga, the author didnt draw the conquerors sparks on luffy attacks and the whole fight extend to just 15 pages .

In wano, Kaido was in his prime, while luffy entered onigashima without his 2 major power ups that he had to learn trough getting spanked. At the end of wano, kaido was arguably still stronger than luffy and maybe egghead's luffy close the gap. Egghead's gear 5 is much stronger than the version kaido faced, for it has new techniques and at least 10 stronger named attacks, plus it's current speed to match the pika pika no mi. In wano it was his first time ever using it. However, currently Oda has given another HUGE upgrade to luffy : unlimited gear 4. The debate about luffy and kaido is now over.
Even before wano's version of gear 5, on chapter 1037 kaido states : ITS been many years since someone was abble to go toe to toe with me, kaido goes on drunken mode + the second level of his híbrid form. At that time kaido was already recognizing luffy. Now we have unlimited gear 4 and a stronger gear 5. Goofy is now a whole ass island stronger than he was in Wano, so that means he could beat Kaido a thousand times over.
