Mine stopped working in less than a month. I love the idea of this but the Alphasmart Neo is far better and much cheaper. Plus, not having dedicated arrow keys and a very slow e ink screen that takes seconds to catch up, it was not worth it for me even a little bit.

I'm so sorry to hear yours stopped working in less than a month - I feel like you should be able to get some sort of warranty replacement on that.
The current versions do have arrow keys (mapped onto other keys, but it's easy enough to learn) and the screen isn't that slow, but those are all valid things people should think about before they buy!

@@AccessAlly Compare the Freewrite's e-ink screen with the snappy quick Pomera 6". There is no excuse for Freewrite to be so slow, considering its price. Unlike the original Freewrite, the Traveller screams "Lazy Design" in every point.

Great little review! Would be interesting to see if your thoughts change over time, a followup video in half a year might be fun 😄

I'm totally game! I always wonder about these things too, and if the productivity stays as high once the "new" factor wears off. ;)
Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment!

The battery life is 14 hours.

Thanks for sharing that stat - that's active use. I don't write for 14 hours straight ;) I am able to use the device for weeks without charging it, but clearly not that many hours per day!

I know you claim otherwise, but this smacks of a sponsored review. I felt like I was watching a paid advertisement. I especially like how you dismissed concerns about screen lag by telling folks if it bothers you, you're doing it wrong.

Thanks for taking the time to comment, your concerns are 100% valid with so many sponsored posts or thinly veiled affiliate schemes.
Like I stated in the video, this is not a sponsored post, I paid for my own device, and I'm not making any affiliate income from this. So, zero profit motive on my part. I also made the video for my audience of business owners, who do a lot of writing and can usually afford a machine like this one.
As for the lag - it doesn't bother me and in fact it helps me not focus on what I'm typing. That's my personal experience. If the lag concerns you, then by all means, don't get this machine, because it's clearly not a good fit.

We're just going to pretend the Neo doesn't exist.
    This feels sponsored.

I've never used a Neo - this is my honest opinion about the Freewrite and there is so no sponsorship relationship with the company - and you won't find an affiliate link anywhere on my channel or website.

Yea, I’m worried about the carbon footprint, while the elitists fly their private jets. Liked the review, tho.

Aww thank you for the kind comment! I hear you - there are bigger fish to fry, but I'm a little nuts (I moved my family to farm after all!) and take these things to heart. ;)
