This is an excellent presentation. This will help me tremendously. I used your handwritten will in 4 minutes for my husband, he passed away Feb 23. I checked the states legality which it is legal. But now, I have to provide for everything we had as a couple for 55 years. I’m also hoping that this will help with other affairs. I’m still unclear about the difference between revocable and irrevocable. I will review your program in the near future, since I am recently widowed.
Most large banks have proprietary POA forms. They will not likely accept General POA documents. The benefit is once you complete the process, the POA notation goes into the account name.
That's wise advice to work with your bank. I have seen banks require an affidavit from the POA agent expiring every six months which says that the POA is valid which is aggravating and unnecessary. So working with your bank is helpful. I should add that I have a general POA for a family member and it has helped a lot and I'm really fortunate to have had my family member draw one up because otherwise I would have had to hire an attorney and go through the court system to have my family member interdicted.
In Louisiana does the agent need to sign the POA? In most POA's I've seen the agent does sign; however by using the POA the agent is accepting the POA.
Great idea with step by step walk through on how to fill out the form. I am single and divorced, not sure if it would it make sense to name my sister as primary agent and my son secondary or the other way around?
I’m not sure why but I’m not able to figure out how to get to the free power of attorney. It takes me to the place where the living trust power of attorney for medical and financial issues etc. are all given. Do you have a discount code?
I have a question and if you have a video or resource about this please give me the link. I have a long time friend that has approached me to be her Power of Attorney.. She wants me to take over her finances. I have resisted for almost a year, thinking that she just needed a budget, but I have just found out that she has blown through all of her savings, all of the proceeds from the sale of her home and is basically spending every check she gets from SS, alimony and a state retirement. Needless to say I was shocked when she told me "it's all gone". Will this Power of Attorney give me total control? Or will she still be able to spend? I have yet to dive into what exactly she is spending it on, but I have an idea since she loves crafts and decorating. I think it would be useless for me to set up a budget and pay the bills for her, if she just keeps up the spending with abandon. I was thinking maybe an allowance for that sort of thing. She retired about a year ago. She has always enjoyed a high income, and the lifestyle was pretty much in line with that. I thought her problem was just adjusting to living on a lower income, but I am not really sure at this point. I am flattered that she wants me to do this, but terrified that it will cause a huge snowball of problems in the future. It's like watching the train headed for the mountainside, and you realize you can stop the tragedy, but in the process you might lose your sanity. I need some guidance.
? If one has appointed a person while incarcerated, are they still the POA after release date from incarceration. Or does one need to revoke them from POA after release date ?
Is this really required if all assets are jointly owned? We ensured that our car, house, bank accounts, credit cards and online accounts are family shared or direct payment to bank accounts. All utilities, recurring bills and annual insurance policies direct bank drafts.
Oklahoma eliminated healthcare powers of attorney as of Nov. 1, 2021. (I have no idea why.) But they didn't take away the ability to create a regular POA to cover your business and financial affairs, either durable or non-durable.

And you need a Healthcare Power of Attorney. The two cannot be the same,

Like your advice on legal affairs. I wish the power of attorney would not require me to jump.through hoops to enable getting a free and legal copy!
Thank you! You are a God send

Can I create one for my cousin to sign who is in a nursing home and unable to make decisions for herself?
Thank you.

Can I do a power of attorney for my son that is with special needs and non verbal. He just turned 18 and we need that.
Can I use this software for a POA for my aunt? she is in agreement with me doing it. She already has a will.

That decision is up to you.
Revoke them now and add your new person of choice. Never know something can happen to you while they are incarcerated and you need you POA NOW
I've run aground... I'm divorced and the form will not let me continue!!!
What do I do Paul?

Yes, it’s imperative, don’t be lazy.
What good is it if they don't have to honor it?
Oklahoma attorney told us as of Nov 2021 hospitals wouldn’t recognize POA’s. He wouldn’t book an appt for us to make a POA..is this true?

Can we make more than one Power of Attorney
So it’s not free!
I AM CAPABLE OF TAKING CARE OF MY AFFAIRS!I HAVE NO PERSON IN CHARGE OF MY BUSINESS
