Those metal-filings -I am next to sure, that they are from either the screw, ao the ring the screw is in contact with. When a (ignorant) student tries to turn the ocular-head, and the screw is at least semi-tight, that would create filings.
That was what I was thinking, but I have seen AvE's channel where he took apart a Chinese made caliper and found BIGGER metal filings inside! So there are definitely factories over there pumping out metal filings, free, with every purchase!
Preparing to upgrade from a hobby to a more 'prosumer' quality scope for home lab duty, it was relatively apparent as you peruse that price point that ALL the microscopes are copies of better known brands (Some being blatant ripoffs!) and all you really need to decide on is features for the best price (looking at the $2-300 level so I'm not expecting miracles). Knowing a few things transfer from photography and firearm scopes, you cross your fingers that most of the money was spent on good glass and decent build quality. After that I'll buy my accessories elsewhere or hopefully can upgrade down the road. By the by, I've loved this channel the last few days as I get back up to speed! You've certainly earned another sub.
Do you find much difference in the quality of the lens as you go from cheaper (e.g., AmScope) to more expensive scopes? Or is the glass in all scopes about the same?
I am planning to buy a microscope today, my god, your channel made a huge impact on my virgin mind... Thanks for the channel and thanks for your opinions.
The Olympus microscopes are very expensive and you do not buy them over Amazon (you contact the Olympus company directly). The Swift microscopes in the Shop are good introductory microscopes that allow you to see everything that I can see with the Olympus at the fraction of the price.
@@Microbehunter Thanks for you answer. Could you give your opinion about the bresser researcher bino, which would be the swift equivalent in your opinion?. Many thanks in advance!!
Hello!, I'm very curious about an experience that you did in your other channel...about potato starch...may i ask you a few things?, I'm trying to replicate it but using a potato flour...the polarized lens is specifically for a brief mycroscope?, I only have a light one (optical), was expecting to have at least same results when you showed pictures. the video using darkfield, its just amazing. Keep up the good work btw!

So..., what do you recomend? I see that in your shop in amazon you have only "Swift", but you have "olimpus", I'm confused about it!

Hello, I used normal microscope optics. I put a linear polarizing filter over the lamp and also one over the slide (below the objective).
Is SVBONY a trusted brand?
How are the optics in the OMAX?
Bendirval I have a omax and the optics are pretty good
7:15 so now I'm *extremely*
confused.
Leica is a German company and it manufactures this particular microscope model in China. The quality specs are still German.
looks like an OMAX microscope
BioHaCKeR looks a lot like my omax microscope
BioHaCKeR the head looks exactly like a omax head
