    Last time I looked it up, Palestinians were not just Muslim, but alao part of a Christian tradition in the community also? As to what's happening now, the Palestinian civilians are the oppressed, and Jesus seemed in the Gospels to speak up to help those at the bottom of communities, so stepping up to promote help for the civilians serms to make sense.

It means ‘invader’ in Hebrew, directly referencing the Aegean/Greek people who lived in Gaza and constantly warred against Israel--before then, that whole mass of land was named Judea. Fact. The Pope still cares about the Palestinian Christians. This is Christmas, yet there are Palestinian Christians in Bethlehem (in the West Bank) who fear for their lives and many are being pushed off their land by settlers. They are not terrorists, but the are being treated as ones. Bethlehem is the birthplace of Christ. In the 1950s, it was more than 85% Christian, but now only 10% Christian. There is no reason the world, especially the Christian world, should have turned its back on them.

    New Covenant Whole Gospel: How many modern Christians cannot honestly answer the questions below?
    Who is the King of Israel in John 1:49? Is the King of Israel now the Head of the Church, and are we His Body? Who is the “son” that is the “heir” to the land in Matthew 21:37-43? Why did God allow the Romans to destroy the Old Covenant temple and the Old Covenant city, about 40 years after His Son fulfilled the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34 in blood at Calvary?
    What the modern Church needs is a New Covenant Revival (Heb. 9:10) in which members of various denominations are willing to re-examine everything they believe and see if it agrees with the Bible, instead of the traditions of men. We need to be like the Bereans. It will be a battle between our flesh and the Holy Spirit. It will not be easy. If you get mad and upset when someone challenges your man-made Bible doctrines, that is your flesh resisting the truth found in God's Word. Nobody can completely understand the Bible unless they understand the relationship between the Old Covenant given to Moses at Mount Sinai and the New Covenant fulfilled in blood at Calvary.
    God is not now a “racist”. He has extended His love to all races of people through the New Covenant fulfilled by His Son’s blood at Calvary. The Apostle Paul warned against using “genealogies” in our faith in 1 Tim. 1:4, and Titus 3:9.
    If the New Covenant is "everlasting" in Hebrews 13:20 and the Old Covenant is "obsolete" in Hebrews 8:13, why would any Christian believe God is going back to the Old Covenant system during a future time period?
    There is a church in Gaza City that is over 800 years old. Why have many Christians in the U.S. ignored the members of this congregation and their suffering during the last year?

    The sad irony of people using words like “genocide” to describe Israel’s targeted attacks on Hamas and Hezbollah, with some of the best combatant-to-civilian ratios in the history of urban warfare, is that it probably makes the possibility of a Palestinian state less likely. Would a typical Israeli be more or less inclined to take the enormous risk of negotiating a Palestinian state when they know half the world will label any attempt at self-defense, even against groups dedicated to their total destruction, as “genocide?”

    I'm loathe to criticize Catholicism, not being a Catholic myself, but to decry war and call for peace after the Oct. 7 attacks while ignoring hostages and other continuing offenses seems...partisan. I know that in the States, Catholic churches have formed a vast resource for illegal immigrants within our communities, providing free meals and shuttling them to and from work. While I understand that many feel compelled to act this way as they believe it to be according to the scriptures, it does constitute a political stance that is not in line with our notions of seperation of church and state, notably their tax exempt status.

      @MariaMartinez-researcher 21 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      Because the Pope is a religious leader - in case you hadn't noticed. Prayer is an important part of his business.
      Also, the Vatican has successfully mediated between countries and achieved lasting peace, like in the almost-war between Chile and Argentina 1970s conflict about the Beagle Channel islands. But, those were two mostly Catholic countries which had never been at war before, and both accepted the mediation right before shooting started.
      The Israeli-Palestinian conflict started in 1948, is between Jew and mostly Muslim peoples, and both have committed atrocities against each other for decades.

      No. It wasn’t until after Rome destroyed the second Jewish temple in 70AD that Caesar renamed the land into Palistina, which is the Hebrew word Philistine as a slap in the face to the Jews. It means ‘invader’ in Hebrew, directly referencing the Aegean/Greek people who lived in Gaza and constantly warred against Israel-before then, that whole mass of land was named Judea. Fact. Go look it up.
