    Man, I could have used this in 1994 when I put one of these together..... I will be working on the same project bike this winter replacing the crank that it needed in 1994.

      Unfortunately not matching with the frame. But the bike looks and rides as good so not a big problem :)

      Thanks for your comment! Yes I think it is pretty similar. Apart form the clutch actuation and the top end.

    Great video.
    5:24 why was only one side given a semicircular strip seal ?

    • @stevew6031
      @stevew6031 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's not a seal, it's a bearing locator/retainer. It fits in a groove in the bearing & lower crankcase.

    some of rd have 4 shifter forks, is there another model?

    • @jh-tech5546
      @jh-tech5546  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sorry, I don't know of any model with 4 forks. Maybe older RD air cooled model?

    The important bit is not showing on this video lining up the 4 tits on the crank bearing to the housing if you don't get this right your end up with cracked bearing many people have

    Hey man! Just got a RD250 which needs some small work but i have no idea where to buy parts for it.. So I was just wondering if you could recommend any website where I could buy parts. Thanks!

    • @jh-tech5546
      @jh-tech5546  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I bought original parts at www.cmsnl.com, and some other parts at yambits.co.uk, www.pjme.co.uk and www.rdlccrazy.co.uk

    Is the gray sealant you used to seal the engine silicone or anaerobic? Do you put thread locking sealant on the crankcase bolts?

    • @jh-tech5546
      @jh-tech5546  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't realy know if i's anaerobic but it's not silicone based for sure. No, i did't put thread lock on the canckcase bolts.

      @@jh-tech5546 For the engine of the 2UA I used the red sealant, I must say that after more than three years nothing has happened.

    Hello, what kind of glue do you use to secure the screws? Thank you for answer.

    • @vinm300
      @vinm300 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would guess Hermetite.
      It comes in many colours : for alternator bolts I used Red Hermetite.
      For minor fixings I would use purple.

      @@vinm300 Thanks. Great video about the complete assembly of the engine !! I will completely assemble the engine and the motorcycle and I am thinking about what glue I will use to secure the screws so that they do not come loose. I bought an adhesive from the LOCTITE 243 brand. Loctite offers 3 types of adhesives. With low, medium and high strength.
