Also to add to that, apparently Nintendo did or rather said the same thing when they released the switch I believe. Someone mentioned it, that Nintendo is repeating it again by saying the next hardware isn’t in their forecast for the fiscal year but then changed it later as it got to the later part of the fiscal year. Nintendo will have more investor meetings and things change over time. They change their forecast for switch 1 sales depending on how things are going in the fiscal year.
Yeah they have no reason to make forecasts for the Switch 2 right now. They can’t forecast sales for something that doesn’t exist yet.
I think between July and September the switch 2 will be announced.
Chances are they’ll update the forecast to include the Switch 2 in either the July/August/September quarterly update or in the October/November/December quarterly update. It depends on when we get the first phase teaser. I’m guessing they’re going to have a rollout of teasers starting with the first teasing something about the console in an abstract sense (like the first Game Awards teaser of the Xbox Series console that had the Alan Watts audio through it) at Summer Games Fest, then possibly a more grounded teaser possibly showing off some of the backward compatibility at Gamescom, an October vibes trailer that teases some games like what we got with the Switch trailer in 2016. December just a post promoting a January blowout full-on reveal event (assuming they didn’t do the full reveal in September or October). March launch roughly around Spring Break and its similar breaks in other markets. That late of a release, they wouldn’t be able to forecast right now anyway, especially not without anything revealed beyond an announcement is coming…in phases.
All depends on when Nintendo is going to announce the switch 2 this fiscal year. Will depend if the switch 2 will launch March 2025.

In 2019 i predicted Switch Up would launch no earlier than march 2025!! How was i laughed off by doubting march 2023😂😂. It seems like march 2025 could even be the EARLIEST possible release date now

I don't think they are going to release it in March or April just like that , a console does not launch immediately after an announcement if they are going to demonstrate what it can do or how the world would react to it .You wouldn't want to buy a buggy hardware that plays unfinished games
I just want this thing ASAP, I don't think the battery on my 2017 Switch will last another year. And I've run out of games with nothing actually good coming.
I also think a March release is likely, but don't be so certain: All we can go on is their word, and their word is that it will be simply REVEALED by the end of the fiscal year. So they could reveal it in March for a summer/fall 2025 launch. I think that's less likely, but plausible if Nintendo wants to completely not chance losing any holiday 2024 sales. I suppose we'll no by November 2024; if it will launch by March, we should hear something more by then.
The furthest game release presented in the June Direct will be telling of when major announcements and marketing will begin.
We know the successor to the switch is real now because Nintendo announced it right now. I just wanna focus on the Nintendo direct and see what we have for the rest of the year for the current switch that’s what we all should be focusing on. Why would anyone want a Switch for Christmas if a new console is launched 3 months after? It will be out before March.
Some people aren't as tuned in to the news; they know they want a Switch (or more realistically, their kids want a Switch), so they go get it. For a parent buying one for their kid, the Switch 1 may be more appealing since the Switch 2 will presumably have a higher price tag.

If they were to launch it this fiscal year, they would have to include that in investor guidance. Since they didn't, it's coming after march 31.
Keep in mind that they did already divulge info to the more major investors in a series of private meetings. It’s very possible that release timeframe could be part of those meetings, which satisfies the investor guidance disclosure. I think Zach makes an excellent point about wanting to close out the fiscal year with a bum rush in March to jump start FY 2025.
@@hyliandweeb Is there any proof of nintendo actually releasing non public information to à select group of investors though? That alone seems unlikely as it would likely break disclosure rules around material non public information. If those select investors had that kind of information and traded on it they would likely go to jail. If nintendo did indeed do it, they would have to immediately make a public disclosure filing or otherwise be heavily sanctioned by the SEC. This makes no sense.

@@hyliandweebNo they did not as that's purely rumour, and it is illegal for Nintendo to divulge important information that impacts its financial forecast to select investors.
@@andrewshatalin9666 SEC wouldn't be involved as they don't trade in the US stock market. But the equivalent in Japan would as it is still an illegal act in Japan.
The theory on why the switch 2 is delayed to early next year or later next year has to do with the Japanese Yen being really weak right now. Nintendo is waiting for a Japanese Yen rebound.
This makes sense, as does the continued success of the current Switch, especially in its home country.
I think it was always in the Nintendo thinking to wait a while the week Japanese yen may be part of it. Nintendo is also just not ready to talk about the switch successor in detail right now.

Haven’t watched it yet, but been saying it, no sooner than March 2025 for the possible announcement. Projected sales and revenues down for the fiscal year along with reduction on advertising by 20% and projected units moved down as well. So obviously no projection on new hardware prior to the March 2025 point and given the advertising drop seems like they won’t be pushing it till around April 2025 in adverts

Switch 2 will not be available until September of 2025 to March or April of 2026. This is the release window as of now. It is from a very reliable source.

Er. No, the hardware has been locked down for several months now, they will right now be doing test production runs. And soon they'll start full production.

The knew what chip would be used but that then will have to of been created and tested which can take a very long time. But the board layout, WiFi chips USB chips, HDMI chips and so on and on won’t have been selected to very late.
