People got to start recognizing the whole band and just not billy.. I get it he is the main attraction but the band makes it come full circle... agree ?
The band is great, but the band wouldn't be the band without Billy. Billy already had established himself to some degree prior to this band and it is named after his stage name. And id venture to guess failing, royal, and Jarrod would agree
These guys have been playin together for quite some time now. Ive seen them live twice in small venues. The last time with Lindsy Lou and her band they all live and play together in Nashville and believe me they are ALL amazing artists! Both bands got on stage and played everything from bluegrass to Zepplin to Black Sabbath. You should see what goes on when these guys grab electric instruments..... frickin mind blowing!!!
duannecb I might offer up one more if you’re looking for a new great in the jam groove world. Rick Mitarotonda from Connecticut’s Goose. Here’s a sample.... th-cam.com/video/lVnoQxq_BqQ/w-d-xo.html
Like the guy said.. "It must have been so tough for Billy's beloved Ma, giving birth to Billy and that guitar o' his." Or "...When you're 24 years old and been playing for 50" Praise be for Billy! Tight band o' Brothers here with 'im too.. Yee Ha! 😎👌
27 Luke Bryan fans thumbed down this vid!!! How bad does your taste in music have to be to not absolutely love this!!! Thank God there's still real musicians giving us what we crave!!!
TH-cam needs to get rid of the thumbs down button!!! If you cant say something nice, don’t say anything at all. I watch these badass musicians doing their thing and wonder-how could 21 haters think it was ok to hit thumbs down on this? Billy Strings you are a badass! Your fellow musicians too!
These are the same sour apples that write lewd graffiti in gas station restrooms and spit used chewing gum on the sidewalk. Ignore them. This is their only way to leave a mark on the world.
Yoooo never listened to Bluegrass in my 32 years until i was recommended a video of a young kid on a couch singing about Meth Amphetamines, but Home is 🔥🔥🔥🔥!
Jason Richards I’d only really listened The Dead South and then I stumbled across Billy Strings on the sofa and was totally blown away. There seems to be a reassurance of Blue Grass and especially amongst the younger people. Just shows that real music will never die . This style of music came about with the early settlers in the U.S hundreds of years ago with influences from English, Scottish and Irish folk music.
Billy is such a humble human and performer, he's surrounded by a very talented collection of musicians. This is the future of bluegrass and a bright one it is. Here's to hoping a young lad is following his footsteps.
This is just the purest form of musicianship. It's so good it makes me cry. All of those guys are just jelling and are all so talented. Man, that's a tight group and they all need a kudos. Bravo! I don't even listen to Bluegrass. LOL. I do now.
Billy Strings got it right, he realized in order to be great you surround yourself with great people. This band is tight and I'm so glad that Bluegrass is coming back strong!!
These guys brought me back to bluegrass. My last binge was right after “Oh, Brother, where art thou?” and led to a stretch during which it was the only music I sought after. Well, here’s to a new obsession!
The 2ed Song Water WOW!! it got me crying so hard. Words very close to my heart and life. Thank you Billy for all the wonderful music you make. GOD let's us learn the hardships of life.. before he shows us the Road to Walk with Him.
Flatt & Scruggs and the Foggy Mountain Boys used one mic and moved the same way as this. I still think it results in the best "mix", because they have to get it right for it to come close to working. These guys are the real deal, and I am so happy they came along to preserve real bluegrass
Right out of the gate these guys burn it up. Blue grass and traditional music is finally coming round full circle. AKUS opened the door again for the un-initiated like myself to the spirit of wood and steel back in the 90"s and bands like these are carrying the torch. I believe it is very similar to the blues revival in the 70"s and 80"s. Now if only jazz would make such a comeback, what a beautiful world this would be!
Everywhere’s the same Strikes a chord with me because in the Covid lockdown of 2019 and 2020 I struck out on the road and traveled all over the country and I hoped my experience would be different in various towns but everything is the same everywhere. But there is a joy in that. Our forefathers sacrificed much for this luxury.
i play in extreme hardcore punk rock /metal band but billy has got what i see and hear in the future of where i want to take hardcore im throwing out my electric guitar and taking up my roots like he did hes brilliuant and most talented player ive heard in a long time if ever im fortunate to have his music in my life time cheers to him and his whole band for inspiration im going to make it a goal to someday collaberate with him and take the whole punk metal bluegrass music world by the balls
I hope they all realize how they are truly impacting the audience. I have read so many comments of how good these guys are but had never listened to Bluegrass before. This is what this genre needs. Thanks y'all! Please play #fasterhorses!
Taking water ... Awesome song. I think i just realized to get my shit together since my grandpa passed in 2016. Thank you for music and doing the inter web things. Hope to come see you live in michigan. Thanks again man you dont know how much your picking means to me. All of yall.
Got to hear Doc&Merle Watson, Sonny Terry & Browie McGee, Bogan,Martin and the Armstrong Bros and the Counrty Gentleman at folk festival around 1973 Kalamazoo, Mi.. Nice to hear what some call roots music carried on in 2020. It is soul music.
People got to start recognizing the whole band and just not billy.. I get it he is the main attraction but the band makes it come full circle... agree ?
Brotha the world needs more frontmen and stars, not bands we got plenty of those
The band is great, but the band wouldn't be the band without Billy. Billy already had established himself to some degree prior to this band and it is named after his stage name. And id venture to guess failing, royal, and Jarrod would agree

clicks over dicks
Billy Failing is a tremendous Banjo player and I think holds his own
Billy Strings, Molly Tuttle and Marcus King. Just seems there’s a new explosion of great guitarists.
duannecb I might offer up one more if you’re looking for a new great in the jam groove world.
Rick Mitarotonda from Connecticut’s Goose. Here’s a sample....

The future of Bluegrass.
if you dont know Benjamin Todd, check him out! He's a master picker himself.
Can't forget about Trey Hensley! Rock on Billy!
It's enough to give a person hope for the future of music :)
The stand up bass is extremely underrated. Without that this music wouldn’t be the same.
also his harmony is really good
Fully agree! He's a very good bass player
Agreed, and totally love that deep bass sound, also!
Like the guy said..
"It must have been so tough for Billy's beloved Ma, giving birth to Billy and that guitar o' his."
Or
"...When you're 24 years old and been playing for 50"
Praise be for Billy!
Tight band o' Brothers here with 'im too..
Yee Ha! 😎👌
27 Luke Bryan fans thumbed down this vid!!! How bad does your taste in music have to be to not absolutely love this!!! Thank God there's still real musicians giving us what we crave!!!
Luke Whoooo??
I came to ask the same. Who is Luke?
This is the future of Bluegrass and it sounds amazing! Don't ever sell out!
Billy rockin' the OG Phish shirt. Love it.
1 minute into this video, I paused it and ordered their album!
BMFS! One of the most incredible artists I’ve ever seen, this band takes hold of a crowd and leaves them entranced:)

Jason Richards That’s how the addiction started for me. I haven’t slept in 5 days now thanks to a little dust in a baggie. 😆
Same. Pretty amazing, extremely talented.
Blue Grass is real music !
Hell ya, my Spotify consists of trap music and bluegrass
Jason Richards I’d only really listened The Dead South and then I stumbled across Billy Strings on the sofa and was totally blown away.
There seems to be a reassurance of Blue Grass and especially amongst the younger people.
Just shows that real music will never die .
This style of music came about with the early settlers in the U.S hundreds of years ago with influences from English, Scottish and Irish folk music.
love how they do live mixing by just distance from the mic!!!
Old school. Bluegrass old timers only sang with one mic and danced in and out for solos, group vocals. It’s cool.
Billy is such a humble human and performer, he's surrounded by a very talented collection of musicians. This is the future of bluegrass and a bright one it is. Here's to hoping a young lad is following his footsteps.

Saw Doc Watson and was hooked. Now Billy Strings.,so thankful in a world of mumble rap and pop sewage that we now have more real music. So damn good!
Not what I would listen to but it popped up on Utube. Amazing
That feller on the bango is killing it too !!!
And despite all that he's still Failing
.
..
...
Alright, I'll see myself out
As long as I have Doc Watson and Billy, I'll never abandon bluegrass
Thank you Billy from France! You and your band are the future of Bluegrass music!
I like that line, "All the things you thought you knew accuse the sky of being blue."
Man that bass is right on
I can remember when you couldn't fill a small room. Congratulations, man. You make Michigan proud.
Taking Water is pure fire
I love watching Billy rise to the top! This band is so tight!
The 2ed Song Water WOW!! it got me crying so hard. Words very close to my heart and life. Thank you Billy for all the wonderful music you make. GOD let's us learn the hardships of life.. before he shows us the Road to Walk with Him.
The greatest guitar play to ever live. This is what generations and generations of rhythm and learning has brought us.
Please tell me the ONE thumbs down 👎🏻 was by mistake...these guys are amazing!
it was some fatherless motherless raised by their angry grandma. She raised a beta who has to shout everyone down to make themselves feel better.
Flatt & Scruggs and the Foggy Mountain Boys used one mic and moved the same way as this. I still think it results in the best "mix", because they have to get it right for it to come close to working. These guys are the real deal, and I am so happy they came along to preserve real bluegrass
On this Thanksgiving, I'm thankful for Billy Strings.
Mr. Billy Strings, I adore and love your band and your music. Long live bluegrass! Heartfelt greetings from little Slovakia in the heart of Europe.
Great mentioning your dad ! Love you have the great up bringing from your dad ! Great Man
Billy Strings has been just getting more incredible with his band literally daily!!!!!!!!!😎🎸
Soundin' GREAT....!!!
Best awesome genuine players What a breath of fresh air Ride fast and take chances
Damn, these ol boys got it wired tight!! Not only great musicians but can kill the harmony ...AWESOME!!
I'm hooked. Down the rabbit hole I go!
Billy Strings is incredibly powerful and brilliant.
Beautiful.
Billy's vocal phrasing has gotten some much better.
This has to be the best-sounding studio on TH-cam. Incredible.
I'd say second best, Tiny Desk kills it. Paste is awesome though.
@@j4ddrums I agree, also Sugarshack kills it too.
One of the best sounding mics is more like it. Louise rules!
@@3lackdog If that is the secret sauce, then everyone needs them.
@Brain Moore agreed!
Man, those harmonies were sweet
Taking traditional BLUEGRASS to GENIUS ❤❤❤
I've been waiting for this kid to pop. He is an absolute slayer on that guitar.
Right out of the gate these guys burn it up. Blue grass and traditional music is finally coming round full circle. You guys are so good and you look so good while you're so good. Good?
Another reason I love the bluegrass montra,....everybody has their solo time in the song.
This band is incredible!
Look up Split Lip Rayfield . .. Kirk Rundstrom.. R.i.p Kirk
Who are the eight people that clicked thumbs down and why do they hate their lives that much? This is amazing
...up until I found Billy and his band I never cared for Bluegrass but boy has that changed...a GREAT bunch of Players...keep on Pickin'.....
These boys are steeped in it!
I can’t stop playing this song, fantastic!
And they can harmonize too? So much talent!
Greetings from England, Wow i Loved this, I guess Ive taken my own English folk music roots for granted but this has ignited a spark to explore more.
wow!!! these guys are absolutely fucking amazing
WOW real music and real talent....love it :)
They are all so talented, to me they are the best, i can't get enough of them.
Bluegrass rules!
My God that last one got me grinning here all by myself.
Taking Water is fantastic
This spurred me to go to iTunes.........any group of guys this good deserve a mess of 💰. Musical ninjas I believe
These Cats have it together. So cool hearing great musicians playing great tunes during these troubled times.
i play in extreme hardcore punk rock /metal band but billy has got what i see and hear in the future of where i want to take hardcore im throwing out my electric guitar and taking up my roots like he did hes brilliuant and most talented player ive heard in a long time if ever im fortunate to have his music in my life time cheers to him and his whole band for inspiration im going to make it a goal to someday collaberate with him and take the whole punk metal bluegrass music world by the balls
Wow just mind blowing
Saw them in Minneapolis 3 years ago and had a beer with them after! Super chill guys that put on an amazing show! Great stuff!
Been listening to these guys for quite awhile. First watched this about 4 months ago and now I have to watch it everyday. DAMN!
Glad I found this. I'm getting me some new albums. Heck yes
This was awesome. I just Loved the Songs. Billy and the Guys are amazing. Thank you so much.
This is not my usual cup of tea but I love Billy String's guitar style and singing just great.
Great harmonizing on the freedom!
Mighty fine singing and pickin✌️
(Everything's the Same) Musically wonderful, comically dark.
Great sound! You all are amazing artists!
Bright hope for the future of music...
Missed y'all in Costa Mesa..this set helps!! Always enjoyable. Thanks
4 Extremely talented musicians right here!
Everything OLD will be NEW again!
Brilliant
Excellent set! Thanks 😊
I hope they all realize how they are truly impacting the audience. I have read so many comments of how good these guys are but had never listened to Bluegrass before. This is what this genre needs. Thanks y'all! Please play #fasterhorses!

Ecstatic to see BILLY STRING making BLUEGRASS LOVERS PROUD❤❤❤ WOW AWESOME TALENTED BAND INSTRUMENTALLY AND HARMONY
The playing by all present is outstanding but Billy's voice 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
That's when I always regret you cannot like more than once on youtube
They are fucking KILLING IT HERE!!!!!
Great music transcends all generations. I want to hear Billy Strings and Marty Stuart sharing the stage.
This was amazing, the vocals and the picking is first class!
I was happy when I found your music on you tube, and finally got to hear you play! Your talent is limitless, and a gift from God. (congrats)
Boy does he share a beautiful, buttery tone with the legendary Tony Rice...
Who is the one lost soul who gave this video a thumbs down?
The band is great!
billy and killer crew have found the groove, and its a GOOD one.

So good
Intro, sing, solo, chorus, sing, solo. Mix and repeat. They do this well.
Beautiful
Yeeee! Boys, that's a mighty fine pickin' and a singin'.
Ear Trumpet mics are soooo cool! Sound great too! Hand made, 30's vibe. Love 'em..
