- Welcome to What Yacht To Do, a Great Loop Documentary. Today, (April 27, 2022) Rev and Sam are moving on their Great Loop Route from a mooring ball in Carolina Beach, North Carolina over to the city dock in Morehead City, North Carolina.
We are cruising around America's Great Loop for a second time and selected a 1999 Carver 504 named the Here's To Us!! as our Great Loop boat. So much goes into Great Loop planning and we share every trip with you. Welcome aboard!

I grew up in Wrightsville Beach & now live in Morehead City. Welcome to the Crystal Coast!
Great to have you onboard with us 😎
Good Morning! It is August 27th and we will be underway up the Hudson River, so we will not be joining you today. Enjoy #227 and let us know how you are doing! Thanks for following us!
It looks like a pretty day on the Hudson. Enjoy the views along the way.
Another super smooth ride and great video Rev. Hope you enjoyed your time in my home town. Morehead has certainly changed a lot over the past 20 years. Be well and fair weather wishes for you two.
Thanks, will do! We also got to meet a local there who was born in the old hospital (building next to the marina). Small world. But loved the Promised Land Cafe and Bar!
Welcome to my city. Hope you enjoyed it.
Yes indeed 😊
I'm two blocks away from those city docks as I watched this. The area was so nice, I decided to winter my boat here. That was over a year ago now. Dang.
Oh wow! Last we heard we thought you were selling the boat. Hope you are well and maybe one of these days we will catch up and have a beer and trade some Sea Stories!
Good morning, Rev and Sam!!
Good morning 😘
A long but very successful day. The kind you like. East coast is busy in this area and it seems to be a taste of whats to come the further north you go. Have a cold one and enjoy the evening.
Thanks Buck! 🍺
Love that area. Went down every year as a kid, and took our kids down almost every year. Had family there, but they’re all gone now except for one cousin. Haven’t been there in 20 years now. Looks nice.
Thanks Doug! Great to have some memories of that re-kindled 😎
Awesome video Rev and Sam!!! 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Thanks Joanne ❤️
Enjoyed it as usual, I'm proud of you too Sam!
Thanks Rick!
Hi Rev & Sam! Loved this trip! Thanks
Hey you two! So great to hear from you thanks for traveling along with us 😎
Just completed this run today, Wrightsville Beach to MCYB. I had to wait on the Figure 8 bridge, but made the others.
Awesome 👍
Semper Fi!
😎 and Aim High!
Just wondering if you use one engine to cruise slower to conserve fuel??
In open areas I meant.
Never!
Not a good idea to do. The other engine propeller would turn and it wouldn't get lubrication on the shaft from the raw water tube. It's best just to throttle back and run them at low economical speed.
Does anyone just go out and crusie across the big water instead of traveling the IC? Is it faster do so? Thanks.
Yes, if the conditions are okay for you and your crew and your boat you can go outside and save a lot of time, but you will miss the sights along the intracoastal. 😎
