    Love your video with perspective from the rear of the train! Really shows the intensity.
    I hope IB gets it running well!!

    I marathoned this over two days this year - rode all over the train but especially the front and back. It’s a wild ride, especially the lateral forces during the drops and the g-forces during the loops. I think the reputation of this coaster was actually slightly exaggerated, but it was definitely hugely fun.
    Ironically, at La Féria the restraints were much more elaborate and cumbersome than is seen here in this vid.

      I went into riding this coaster without any expectations so I was pleasantly surprised. That's cool you got to marathon on it. I would have loved to take another ride or two but the wait was too long,

    I rode Olympia Looping... a perfect example of a well maintained Schwarzkopf designed coaster that’s dismantled and reconstructed on a daily basis aswell as being properly maintained. The Ex Magnum Force/ Dreier Looping however at its current park has been in a sorry looking state since it opened there and I personally blame negligence for the accident. I hope this coaster has a future as it’s uncertain to whether or not it’ll ever operate again!

      Olympia Looping is an amazing ride. I have heard from a few people who share your thoughts on neglect at the park. I haven't been to the park where the accident took place yet.

      @@NickyD It was a very intense ride. The U.S. doesn't have a great record when it comes to operating ultra-intense Schwarzkoph coasters all out. Take Thriller for instance. Yep, there are some Anton creations in the U.S. still operating, but they aren't nearly as intense in design and operation that some of the others ones are, in my opinion.

    After this recent accident are parks going to routinely check or replace their Swartzkopt rollercoasters?

    • @SeanFlaharty
      @SeanFlaharty  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Since the accident on Mindbender in the 80's, it ramped up the checks and inspections for Swartzkoph coasters. Quimera's maintenance looked to be quite a bit shady from the videos I have seen.

    “That would never roll like that in the states”
    But it does. This ride was bought by Indiana Beach in the states and it was just as rough as this video.

    • @SeanFlaharty

      I was originally very happy to hear that this coaster was being brought the United States as I did enjoy it in England. However, once I heard it using trains with accordion restraints, I lost some hope. When I recorded this video, the coaster was running with a five-point strap harness. No according restraints. So, we had an amazing ride and didn't get banged around too much. There are insane laterals that I couldn't imagine riding it with those bulky restraints would feel like.....Then Indiana Beach put on trains from (I believe) Mindbender with those accordion restraints. Now, admittedly, I haven't watched a single video of the ride in action at Indiana Beach, but I have heard from friends that rode it and couldn't believe how bad the coaster is with those trains. Hopefully the park will modify or get different trains to make for a more comfortable ride.

RIP to the two young men who lost their lives in this freak accident. That's what it was and 99% of the time you are safe riding a coaster.

      By the same token what do Americans know; S&S have had repeated design-flawed disasters that cost parks millions to fix, Arrow coasters while iconic are rough and have either been heavily modified or torn down, Premier Rides had the colossal fuckup that was Batman & Robin: The Chiller. Those manufacturers also produced a lot of amazing rides.
      Netherlands and Switzerland produce some of the best coasters worldwide from Top Thrill Dragster to Fury 325 to Expedition Everest. They also produced some badly designed, rough and maintenance-heavy rides. You can't really generalize by country like that.
