Peter is my #1 favorite singer. I appreciate his talents, respect him as a person (even more so after listening to a podcast, which I believe is reaching your summit). When I listen to a song that he is performing (either with Chicago (I am a die hard Cetera era fan, who has come to respect Neil Donell) or solo), I feel as if I can identify and relate. I just love " Only Heaven Knows"; the lyrics provide a wonderful reminder and help keep my inner critic at bay (my inner critic is quite persistent).
‘Only Heaven Knows’ Words & Music by Jamie Houston & JD Martin (born Martin Gerald Derstine) Why ask Why Show yourself some mercy Don't be shy You don't have to look away It's allright You don't have to know the answers In your heart you know you'll do The Very best you can Sail away tonight, on the ocean of forgiveness We cannot decide which way the wind will blow Baby close your eyes, let go of tomorrow Some things in life, only heaven knows. Face the sky, like I never heard you Live your life you don't have to be afraid Here inside are those who trully love you Theres nothing you can ever do To make them turn away Sail away tonight... Us now baby Oohh now and don't you cry Say a little prayer to heaven And I will sing a lullaby Sail Away tonight...
@BPRoche MANY thanks bud for posting the workaround to get these Peter Cetera tracks up here 😉. Hard to find music but one for which I am (and many should be) eternally happy that you did 👍. Even for such a 70s/80s/90s musical and inspirational icon it seems it was still degrading just how hard it was/is to have such hugely talented releases noted and appreciated.
Yeah? It wasn't a condition of leaving Chicago that he could never again use horns in a song. And Peter didn't opposed the horns, he just wanted to know why they had to be on EVERY song.
@@katemaloney4296Very true. Terry Kath had a song 🎵 on Chicago VI called "Jenny". It had no horns on, the same album Robert Lamm had a song called "Critics choice" no horns, no drums, no bass or guitar . Just Robert playing piano and singing. Peter wasn't the only one to illuminate horns on a song in that band.😮😮😮
Thank you. One person does TH-cam's job.
He always makes me feel so calm an it feels like he sings just to me
Exactly
Cetera never opposed the critics.
Separation as a soloist was, therefore, only predestination.

Why ask Why
Show yourself some mercy

In your heart you know you'll do
The Very best you can
Sail away tonight, on the ocean of forgiveness

To make them turn away
Sail away tonight...

And I will sing a lullaby
Sail Away tonight...
🎶🎵💜🎼 Love it. Have a little faith.
Love that middle section where the song gets to just breathe with some sweet instrumentation. Very relaxing and smooth.
Two great songs. A great album to listen to in the autumn.
The best ever!!😍😍😍👏👏👏👏👏
My all time favorite solo album of Peter’s.

Do Pete's songs have a following, and the man?
What happened, that made Heaven turn your way, after so many years, and let you know, I'm roving (2nd song)?
He using HORNS!!!
