Condenser is a device which is used for condensation when the vapour or steam is passed through the condenser then it contains and convert into the liquid form and the liquid goes dropwise into receiver in the condenser water is coming from in one side and removing from outside so it helps in the cooling of vapour

A thermometer inserted in to a cork which is fitted in to the distillation flask. The bulb of the distillation flask should be beneath the side arm of the flask.
Actually the distillation flask consists of a side arm. Through which condenser is connected.
When the vapor pressure of liquid equal to the atmospheric pressure liquid starts boiling. Then the vapor produced is travel through the side arm of distillation flask and enter in to the condenser. At that time with the help of thermometer temperature of the distillate measured.
