    I love your videos, both informative and entertaining. I would suggest though you'd put up some subtitles to explain a bit of the techniques and/or context for what you are doing, i think it would really add value to your work!

    Good work, Rune.
    While I had a break for a coffee I watched this video. On a screen in the office there was a reportage in the japanese TV about the actual status and a championship in e-sports in Tokyo.
    Could you imagine how it felt to me - this was like being in two different worlds at the same time.
    Strange.

    Very nice finished product, what was the dye you used for it, was that just a colour or also a preservative as well? Interesting to see the layers built up for the thicker part of the axe, I've seen this done with cork with the leather folded over the outside, but not layered like this before.

    • @BertramCraftAndWilderness
      @BertramCraftAndWilderness  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Frithgar
      Thanks. The dye was only dye - just the regular kind made for leather. It's a bit more work to build up the layers in leather, but it makes a lot better sheath. Thanks.

      @Blank. if you look back in history, you'll find every generation had the same view about the ones that came after them. Hell, go back far enough and his ancestors would have mocked him for covering his axe, what proud Norseman would fear his own axe blade? I'm reminded of the time that my great grandfather and his brother were talking about my generation. My great uncle talked about how kids today were too soft and did nothing useful, as I listened I could tell my great grandfather was just waiting for his turn to speak. As soon as his brother stopped talking my great grandfather gave a gruff laugh before reminding him about what they did for fun when they were my age. He reminded him of how they tied firecrackers to the tails of cows and horses, about the time they poured manure down the schoolhouse chimney in January, and how much fun they had with a laundry list of questionable behavior. So remember that kids do dumb things and they like dumb things, it's just how kids are and have always been.

      Blank.
      Mmmm there's a lot to be said about social engineering, media's manipulation of people's logic(i.e. propaganda), and the outright brain damage from exposure to a myriad of chemicals/injections and injunctions. Based on many years of studying human psychology, I would personally be more careful about throwing around this "WE" thing.
