Resisted only by two types in Gen 1 (three nowadays after the addition of Steel in Gen 2), S.-T.A.B. on Tauros, with a chance to paralyze even Ground-types, who are immune to Electric-type moves (which are the most often used type to spread the status condition).
3 years late but its clear even in the past yall never tried Venusaur huh? Venusaur is the most consistent starter competitively despite it’s horrid typing. It has been in OU for like, 4 gens now and even in tiers below in other past games it was still a decently strong pokemon. The only reason why Charizard is good competitively is the 2 Mega forms but can be defeated by a very skillful player. Even Venusaur’s mega gains the ability Thick Fat which halves the damage done by fire/ice attacks. And even without busted megas in gen 8 venusaur is a good bulky grass types with a number of uses/sets you can make with him. The two sets that really stand out to me though are the bulky leech seed sets and the bulky sun sweeper sets.
