My title for this: Where Armies Meet. "This is Where Armies Meet. Their blood shall water the ground. Their arrows shall fill the air. Frenzied cries of battle will drown all other sound. And whoever wins... will write history in their name." Holy crap. You never realize exactly how fitting these remasters are until you play while listening to them/ see footage of the game with the music. This... wow, it's like the map was always meant for this particular flow of music. A massive ritual- like ground, with lots of open areas, monsters, and crossfire... massive war beasts of immense destructive power waiting at the center of it all for your challenge... wonderful. One can really feel that this gameplay footage is leaving a good impression. The song also gave me the impression of two huge armies with immense spite for each other, meeting at the crack of dawn on a massive, open battlefield to resolve their conflict once and for all- hence the name and that random passage above.
Been waiting for a continuation of your Heretic album! You've outdone yourself once more in taking great, 1:30 tracks and making them double or more in length. If I may make a request, I'd love to see what you could do with E3M3's "The Confluence". It's really underrated imo.
okay some well meant subjective criticism on the song. the "verse" parts are really, really good, I love it, the emphasis on drums creates amazing tension. the "chorus" is super limp, barely any improvement over the original midi, and does not turn any of the tension the verse built up into profit. maybe carry over some of the drums from the bridge, maybe turn down the choir a bit in favor of the strings? that's my personal pet peeve with this track anyway, comparing how the strings are treated in midi and in OPL synth, I like how loud and majestic the strings are in the synth version much more than those really weak strings in midi.
@@lukejansen3540 yeah I hope it made at least some sense too ) I don't really have much of a musical education so when trying to convey my feelings about a song it can get complicated.
@@lukejansen3540 one more point came across my mind when pondering about this track and your remix. the verse caught my attention so much because I think you completely changed the paradigm of it. The original take on this track evoked in me feelings of being at a long abandoned, lonely and desolate place, with wind blowing along crumbling walls pillars (despite the outer ring of the portals of chaos being quite densely populated heh). your take takes a completely different direction and it's exciting.

You really are the Andrew Hulshult of Heretic covers, and I'd even say Amid Evil should've gotten you instead

Kind of reminds me to Venice Rooftops mix from Soul Calibur 5, pretty good
