What a day it was.... can never forget. What courage by Imran going in at number 3... Javed's master class, what a classy and cheeky player he was.... classic onslaught by Inzimam and Akram at the end of the innings and what a spell of bowling by Akram removing Lamb and Lewis from the list... arguably two of the best deliveries in a WC final.
How beautiful this would have been watching it live. Those who have watched it live are lucky to have witnessed this feeling. I can just imagine how great it would have been watching the great Imran Khan playing and then winning.

PAk had to win 3 consecutive matches including new Zealand which was beast team in that wc,that didn't lose a single match.
West indies also had to lose against Aussie so that PAk could qualify for semifinal.
In semifinal PAk won incredibly.
England got PAk out only at 74 in the league match n final is up there

with inspired performances from Wasim, Mushtaq and Inzamam etc. All held together and led intelligently by the great Imran Khan. A fitting end to a glittering 21 year career. The way he conducted himself and spoke made us even more proud.

Imran Khan Niazi made his comeback in Pakistan cricket team @age of 40 and under his leadership the Shaheens became the World Champions in 1992 World Cup.Whereas England cricket team lost 92 World Cup finals to Pakistan by a margin of 30 runs mainly due to goof ups in the batting line up.
I love how the MCG was cheering for both teams and how they got that big of a crowd seeming as Australia weren’t in it.

When growing up in 1970's and liking Majid, Zaheer, Miandad etc. and then Wasim, Waqar, Younis Khan etc. and many others, there was one name that stood out. A patriotic Pakistani captain with charisma, intelligence and match winning all-round performances. I've always been a big fan and read his books, supported the SKMH and named my son after him. My hero and inspiration - Imran Khan.
Australia and New Zealand are the best quality hosts of cricket world cup till date. Both 1992 and 2015 hosted by them are great.
They have good planning , great infrastructure everything ❤
