So am I reading into the lyrics too much or was she talking about how if King Kamehameha - a ruler wearing traditional Native Hawaiian garb and speaks only the Native Hawaiian language - was brought back in the present he would feel more nervous ("His armpits begin to sweat") today than he would have felt back when he was a ruler ("pits flowing freely in the wind Kamehameha style") because Hawaii has changed so much that him walking around with just his gear would get him interrogated by the police (who would not understand him because they speak English not Hawaiian) and accidentally bumping into a "scary looking" tourist wearing a bright aloha shirt (who looks super different from him) makes him start to sweat thus forcing him to become like a turtle with a thick shell just so he can survive which is basically how Native Hawaiians feel even four years after this video was made?
Also bonus: Yes I'm Hawaiian and I like this song! Also the "Four golden statues" might be a reference to either four of the bronze royal statues that you'll find along Kalakaua Avenue (which goes across the entire length of Waikiki) or it refers to the Kapaemahu aka "The Four Wizard Stones" also located in Waikiki said to contain the spirits of four legendary healers who rescued the Hawaiians in the past.
Most of their music is about historical and mythical figures in weird alt-history settings, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if you're 100% correct
