বৈশ্বিক জ্বালানি তেলের বাজারে একক আধিপত্য হাতছাড়া হতে যাচ্ছে বিশ্বের শীর্ষ তেল উৎপাদনকারী দেশগুলোর জোট-ওপেকের। জোটের বাইরে থাকা তেল উৎপাদনকারী দেশগুলো ব্যাপকভাবে তেল সরবরাহ বাড়ানোয় ভূমিকা রাখবে। বৈশ্বিক বাজারের প্রায় ৭০ শতাংশ দখলে নিতে পারে ওপেকের বাইরে থাক দেশগুলো। আধিপত্য কমে গেলে ওপেকভুক্ত দেশগুলোর আয় কমে বাজেট ছোট হওয়ার আশঙ্কা রয়েছে।
