With or without snow, your Christmas lights look beautiful! On a side note, my wife got one of those “Book” miniature models for Christmas - I told her how Karyn makes a lot of these miniature scenes. She should have fun with it - in between all the knitting!

Even the pandemic just gave us an excuse to stay in the shop and build things without ever going out. Normally that sort of behavior would be looked down upon. I missed doing the decorating this year, trying to get an electric trike built so I can bike into town and not use my van anymore!! I'm going Blind guys, so seeing your display makes me happy!!!

The lights look so great. Great touch to the layout. I tried it last year on my buildings and the train. It was such an ass pain. I skipped it this year.
I’m not sure what that is? I’m currently running DCC power through the entire railroad, but I’m thinking I need to put a booster out here. It was actually my plan all along this once the track reaches the tough Shed to put a booster inside the tough shed. I have a data line running under the railroad so it would be easy to do. The rotary snow plow by contrast runs on batteries. As of now, none of the locomotives run on batteries, but it’s something I’ve considered. I’m going to start using Bluenomi decoders. A mouse can run on anything batteries or track power.😊🎁🎁🎄🎄🚂🚀🤶🎅
@ToyManTelevision - a buck converter will either step up the voltage or down. You said in your video the Christmas lights run off 3 double A batteries (about 5 volts). You could tap off your power supply for the tracks, insert a buck converter and step down the power to 5 volts (or even lower) for your Christmas lights on the layout. No need for batteries or separate power supply just for the Christmas lights. I step down most of my electronics with a buck converter so I don't need several different power supplies. Hope that helps explain it.

That Star Trek box was a wedding present! Sort of a long story there. The best man at the wedding brought new badge for one of the Mustang as a wedding present and he put it in the Star Trek lunchbox!😊😊🎄🎁🚂🚀🤶🎅🚂🚂🚂🚀🚀🚀
That's awesome Dale, funny Opryland Hotel Resort put up their outdoor lights in July and August. Did you think about putting those battery packs in a tupperware tub snapped shut. Did you put them in one of the buildings. Great job by the way!
Hi! Yeah, the cars pop up in a couple of the car show videos. I think I have a playlist for cars shows and museums and stuff. I’m not 100% sure! I’ve put up so much stuff at this point I can’t keep track! Track. See what I did there? Anyway, the 67 is well featured in one of the very first videos that I ever put up on the first convention, which is where I met Karyn! We definitely plan on getting back out to vans, but what we’d really like to do is get out to the other railroad that he runs on, which is in another guy’s backyard, not too far from here about 30 miles. He calls at the SNS railroad. It’s absolutely amazing. Three different gauges. 7 1/2, 15, and 24! And now GarageMahal is not located at our house. It’s not far from here about 3 miles. 😊😊😊🎄🎁🚀🚂🎅🤶
I was wondering. I bet Karyn could make a cool inside for that caboose in the video. Pot belly stove. Rocking chair with a man sitting inside with his pipe, coffee, newspaper. Table and a chair. He will be relaxing until the next stop.

I’ve also been planning to change out the lenses on the marker lights because they’re wrong. It should be red facing back, not green, and green facing sideways in front. So everything that’s red should be green and everything that’s green should be red! Sort of nice for Christmas I guess but just flat wrong.
Can you use those electric pipe cables under the bench to keep the ice from forming? They use these cables to keep pipes and rain gutters from freezing, giving off a nice gentle heat. Just a thought.
That would probably work. But what I like to do is if I see a proper snowstorm it looks like it’s gonna be something that we would actually wanna run in, get out there before anything can freeze and clear off the tracks with just a workbench brush. Then as the snow falls, just kind of keep clearing that off. And if the snow gets deeper than a couple of inches you just have to give up and say well that’s not gonna work out! That’s what I did with the storm that we had just before Christmas, but it turned out to be more of an ice storm than a snow storm. Was difficult to get the ice off of the tracks and it just didn’t look very good.
I've done a similar thing you did on a few pieces of my HO scale Christmas rolling stock and put lights on them (I got the idea from another TH-camr called SMTMainline, check it out) also let me know what you think of my Christmas train video, I think you'll like it
What a wonderful outside railroad! What's the depth and length of the platform? Your steam locomotive sounds really good. Edit: Nevermind re: platform length and depth. YOu have some crazy railroad running through the outer wall of your house into what appears to be the entire backyard from a video I found in 2022. Not easy finding the start of the project since you have a couple quite a few videos you have made over the years :)
I bet you can make a small trash can, like a 55 gallon type, to simuate a nice warming fire with some workers huddled around it to keep warm. All you would need is one battery operated vigil candle that flickers for inside the trash can. Your video got me thinking. Sorry
