Chain maille was most common in post Roman Britain but there would still be some Lorica Segmentata around that you could give a character. Leather armour would be around also and would be good for vambraces or a character who does a lot of scouting. I haven't seen the show Merlin but the 2004 King Arthur uses a lot of Roman armour and variety of types to show different characters. Thanks for posting this entertaining video

My generation had Hercules and Xena. These were "historical" fantasy shows that very similarly took place in the time of myth and legend. 😂😂😂
