@George Nelson Thank you for the kind words! I suppose it’s a case of slow and steady wins the race. :-)

Right in the guts. I knew this one would make you squirm some. Even though the song was up tempo, the tune carried a clue to the heavy subject and ending that was coming. Love these old songs.

Known as the best friend a song ever had. Started in rock in the 50's he was one of the few to remake himself over and have a tremendous career in country music, his duo's with Loretta were phenomenal. Their charisma together had people wandering if they were having an affair

I'll never forget the day Conway died. I had the honor of meeting him when I lived in Nashville in 1974. He was just a regular guy and a real sweetheart. If you didn't know you'd never guess he was famous. His favorite things to wear were old jeans and shirts that had Twitty bird written across the front. I've lived in Tennessee my whole life now just down the road from Nashville. When Conway died everywhere you looked outside stores on signs in front of businesses EVERYWHERE there were signs that simply said Goodbye Darlin' That's all it needed to say. He was one of the true country greats and just a good guy. MISS YOU CONWAY...💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔

Love Conway's songs! He used to play the county fair every year where I grew up so I had the chance to meet him several times. Very charming and funny. I prefer his happier songs. This song is definitely deceptive. Having raised my son alone, this one always gets to me!

I listened to this song for years. I then got involved with a woman with a child that didn't have a father. So i took him into my family. We brought him into the family, so he could get an idea of how family operates. The boy needed a positive male influence in his life to show him how to be a good man. I did the best I could to make sure that he grew up to be a good and decent man. He holds down a job, and has 2 children, and a wife that he takes care of. He and i are still close. He is a good and decent family man. They have the same kind of family we had when i was young. He was loved and accepted into our family as if he were blood. I have been around him since he was 9 years old. I saw a wrong and did the best I could to make it right. I made mistakes with him, and we had some rough spots, but I never gave up on him, and he never gave up on me. I have screwed up everything in my life. Except my marriage, and the kids. My kids are good decent adults, and are not someone society can do with out. They will be my legacy. I am proud of all my children. I never had any blood children, I just tried to help those who didn't have a father figure. I did what I could based on what my father taught me. I didn't marry any of their mothers, but we all get along.. If the dad would have come to the door wanting to have a relationship, I would have let them. But not one did. I don't usually let this information out, but it needs to be said, that not all men play those games that daddies play. This song opened my eyes to see that what was in front of me. My father did the same with a very good friend of mine. We have been friends for 45 years. he gave me a bicycle last month. He told me, to have the bike, because my father bought him a bike, when he didn't a bike or a father, and he never forgot. Like I said, I did the best I knew how, for good and bad. Anyway, my apologies for the book.

You should react to Mary Chapin Carpenter’s “I am a town” & “Not too much to ask” she is one of the best singer/songwriters ever!

Conway is terrific. Can you try “I Don’t Know a Thing About Love”? Or maybe a duet with Loretta Lynn and Conway called “You’re the Reason Our Kids Are Ugly”?

In 3 minutes, Conway summed up almost everything wrong with today's society. Missing Dad's. Amazing, huh?

If you're a Conway fan, I think you'll enjoy the Glen Templeton cover of "Good Bye Time".
    Don't look at your screen.
Just listen and prepare to be shocked.
I don't know the man but, I have to wonder why he's not on the radio.
God bless you, Don and everyone you love.
    Stay safe out there!

I miss the heart felt songs of old in the country genre. Today’s so called country is just so far out of touch.

Do “French Summer Sun” by Jason Eady. It’s quite the gut punch.

I haven't heard this in years. Some songs you just don't want to listen to a lot.
