Brendon is definitely a Tenor. Although he has a darker tone than most and decent low notes, his agility and ease while belting in the fourth octave gives it away.
Darius Wilson Chris Cornell is a Baritone and can hit high-belted Tenor notes too. Mike Patton too. It's more about his confort zone range and his register break notes
Darius Wilson Probably he is high Baritone. He has amazing vocal range, he can hit the high notes with head voice/falsettos but when he sings, he sings like a High Baritone. I mean, If he can hit the high notes ( like a5, a#5), that doesn't mean he is tenor. I can hit high notes too ( like f#6, a6) but i can't always sing like a tenor. I'm high baritone too
he's not a baritone lmao. he's not even a baritenor. he's a low tenor for sure. like the guy above me said, his tenorish agility, the resonant 4th octave, and the whole timbre reveal it. he's one heavy motherfucker though, and he darkens his tone even more, hence why he sounds kinda baritonish sometimes. he also has huge vocal folds that allow him to go lower than your usual tenor, and with more resonance down there and nobody said he's a tenor cause he can hit A5 or whatsoever, dude
The A5, Bb5 and C6 "belts" were more like strong, connected head voice notes, and he's definitely a light-lyric tenor with amazing lows, so his range would be something like D2-G#5-D6, which is pretty impressive. Anyway, he's one of the most amazing singers and artists in the contemporary rock scene and he inspires me so much. 😍
Brendon Urie is a magical man with the voice of a trillion angels mashed into the body of a hot demon. He's the definition of a perfect man. Edit: (who also loves black shiny pants--leather?)
When they saw that singing really high is using your head voice… maybe he can sing that high because he uses his FOREhead voice. (Sorry, I couldn't resist)
When you Write that he hit c7 too i was like "boi nuh uh he could hit that notes." Then i hear it coming and i'm fucking SHOOK BRENDON MY BOY, Idk you can register that notes!!! You little satan that's trap in a god body.
Fareya Mubashera It's the notes on the piano, they go from C C# D Eb E F F# G G# A Bb B. Then back to C in the next octave. Such as a B5 is much higher than a C5.
a lot of people don't understand the concept of MPHV . its not a part of the mixed register and should be included in the falsetto / head voice range .
Are you sure that Brendon Urie is a Lyric Baritone? Because on lots of videos and sites, I see that he is a Leggerio Tenor. Other than that, great video, can you do the same for Jeff Buckley and Liam Gallagher please?
Brendon calls himself a tenor, if that helps. I don't know anything about the difference between baritones, tenors, etc... But he definitely considers himself a tenor.
TarariMogan Oh okay If you want to know the difference, listen to "Jizzlobber" from Faith No More then listen to "Eternal Life" from Jeff Buckley. You will hear the difference between a Baritone and a Tenor ;)
Brendon's definitely a tenor. The timbre of his voice, his vocal agility in the fourth octave, and the extremely bright mixed voice, and not to mention the huge upper register (with barely to no strain) is accessed easily. His passagio is also too high to be a lyric baritone, though he does carry a full darker resonant sound when reaching his lower notes.
Brendon Urie is the best vocalist in the world, some great vocalist teachers have said that, it is unreal what Brendon can dowith his voice, LOVE IT ALL.
For all the people that are calling Brendon a baritone because of his timbre, you are incorrect. Determining someone’s voice type is not by their vocal range, timbre etc but it’s define by their tessitura. Watching this is video it’s clear that he feels comfortable in the G4-Bb4 area where tenors shine. He those notes like their nothing. If he was baritone those notes would be to high for him. Brendon uses a chest dominant mix for stylistic reasons to give him more power to his voice. If he stripped away his chesty mix, his natural timbre would sound much lighter. As for what tenor he is, he is a light lyric tenor since he has a light boyish tone.
I feel comfortable between F#2 - Bb4. (And yes, this is on chest and I doesn't have any problems doing all notes in between, i roam the city in a shopping cart- oh wait, incorrect thing)
With good technique and opening in the right spot those notes are easy for a baritone try guh guh guh and you’ll see what I mean. He’s a baritone you can hear the resonant low notes and the mixed voice atabove F#4. Lyric tenors don’t need to mix as low as brendon does and if they want to sound fuller they just keep a neutral low larynx. His passagio is low his low notes are resonant and he is mixing above F#4 what more evidence do you need lmao
hes a dramatic tenor he has because he has some strong mid 2nd octave notes but can still access the upper 4th octave with confidence even up to C#5 his chest range is pretty confident
@@L2_Impart no everything after F#4 is mixed. I’m a baritone and can sing up to D5 with mixed voice too and I only have a few months of training. With mixed voice a baritone can sing high brendon is one

The only reason im pointing this out is because many people think hes a tenor. yet a tenor can belt a C5 in head voice

The only reason im pointing this out is because many people think hes a tenor. yet a tenor can belt a C5 in head voice

Baritone my ass, he's such a tenor. His real resonance starts higher up, and no matter how decent his lower range is, in a live setting, it's quite inconsistent, and he doesn't seem totally okay singing live below B2. Speaking as a high-ass tenor, he tends to struggle in the expected areas (G4-A4), and above and below that, when he doesn't strain like CRAZY and just uses a relaxed larynx, it's all a very tenorish timbre.
Lmao his speaking voice goes as low as Gb2 and even F2 when speaking with vocal fry it resonates at G2 and above so he obviously can sing those notes with no sweat. He mixes way too early for a lyric tenor. He doesn’t strike me as a tenor maybe a dramatic tenor but that resonance down that low and that passagio at Eb4 makes me question that and the fact that his timbre is too dark down low for a tenor as well. If you mixe you will sound like a tenor even if you are a baritone

My lowest and highest notes. Please note the pitch for me. Bass and whistle tones.
saying he's a dramatic tenor would probably be more fitting, perhaps heldentenor. his lows below F2 are very unnatural and somewhat obscured/edited
Lows cant really tell that much in his case because he has access to the 1st octave but i do think he is a tenor but more of a full lyric tenor
