  • Syria: a crisis at Fortress Europe's gates. Since the war began in Syria, thousands of refugees have made the precarious journey to Europe, through Turkey, in search of safety.

    We follow the lives of two refugee families as they encounter people smugglers, border guards and shocking conditions along the way, and find themselves torn apart, not by the war back home, but by a new enemy: 'Fortress Europe'.

    This is a culture so amazingly patriarchal, there are few women refugees. Most of them are men.

      +Theresa Wright It's easy to say that, but if you don't trust neither your government nor the radicals and the Free Syrian Army is too weak to ever win this conflict, you really do see how few options they actually have.

      The Syrian men who fled may have relatives
      in refugee camps (Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey)
      Or, they might be people who didn't support
      Assad or ISIS. Both are brutal regimes

    • @theresawright1932
      @theresawright1932 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +eksiarvamus That's the issue, trust. Isn't it in their cult to obey the laws of their land. This is the issue they use their religion as a basis for discord in their country. They should consider themselves Syrian's first and Sunni secondary, if they had this attitude, ISIS would be halted in Syria, but all they are good at are being whinging refugees.

    • @eksiarvamus
      @eksiarvamus 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Theresa Wright Now this part I do agree with. But not all of them are like that or at least they don't want to force their rules on Europeans. Many do and many have been sent here to do just that, but it doesn't mean that the innocent people shouldn't be taken in as refugees from a bloody civil war.

    • @theresawright1932

      eksiarvamus Are these refugees safe in countries like Turkey, Lebanon and other Islamic countries bordering Syria and Iraq? Being an asylum seeker is different from being a refugee.

    • @brightsunshine1739
      @brightsunshine1739 9 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Because they don't want to abort their children. Like some people do a lot. Their families are really close knit from what I can see and they stand together on the face of adversity.

    All refugees are welcome in Botswana, and could be a real support to the economy. They could receive a free piece of land in protected camps, to raise their family and crops, like they did in their homeland. The camps could be built along ancient canals, which would bring irrigation water. Much work needs to be done to make this a possibility, but the refugees are looking for work, and need something to do. Overflow refugees from all countries, who do not have room for these people in the first place, could transfer families to Botswana, and pledge support of some kind to get them started to settle in. Refugees in Germany, Sweden, Norway, UK the United States and so forth can now re-home these people closer to a climate from wence they came.

    What would you do if you were fleeing a war and got rejected by a peaceful country? Don't judge other peoples and beliefs based upon the actions of a minority, I know Muslims, they aren't generally bad people; We're all human anyways, we must understand each-other!
    (Btw, I'm part Irish, and my ancestors were beaten down by haters when they arrived in America; most U.S. citizens have European ancestry anyways, the real citizens are Native Americans. HYPOCRISY!)

      Davros Darlek But the countries with similar values will not be able to take you because they have millions of other refugees. For example turkey(3.5 M) lebanon a country of orginally 4.2 Million lebanese people has (1 M syrians) jordan(660,000) they have no choice but to go to other countries cause the neighbouring ones are oversaturated with refugees and don't have space for them.

You're all just too comfortable with your lives, so much so that you have become blinded to the state of other human beings. Division is bigger to you than looking out for your fellow humans.

    Syria must be stabilized by force and them put back in it, do some journalism investigate where they come from in Syria which village which area ? and find out about the state of war there? any resettlement must be done in the middle east, as its 20 times more cost effective than in the UK. Our lower class communities here are fractured beyond recognition with feudal replacement, endorsed by a middle to upper class who write a cheque of charity, they never pay for in their own communities.

    Please no more videos about refugees campaign... We are dealing with world population growth that is out of control - mexico, middle east, indonesia etc. Maybe a video on how to deal with population growth because there is a correlation between overpopulation, bad education, no healthcare and the status a large family gives to poor people. There is also a correlation to crime, conflict and unemployment. Refugee stories and many become illegal wanderers is a cliché that viewers are increasingly tired of... please what is the answer showing food handouts videos isnt helping anyone.

    • @JHCyber
      @JHCyber 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Janet Harding I am sure you're a great person, but the forces to be have ravaged the ME and decades: they first used the north of Africa as slave workers (France and others), then colonized them and the rest of the ME, and imported the savagery of war in WWI and WWII, and after that started splitting the region to their will, and imposing leaders in every country, giving weapons to some (Israel helped by US and Britain, Saudi Arabia by the US, Saddam by the US and so on), and now, because they seeded nothing but war and have not even tried educating them, they get exactly what was coming their way a long time ago: people who have been living disconnected from the world, always pushed one way or another by conflict here and there, are not prepared for the sophisticated world of the 21st century...
      What is going on is expected to happen for a long time, it's no surprise to anyone but the gullible, and we in the West have been living in a bubble, choosing to ignore what our countries have been doing all these decades. Well THIS is what they have been doing. THIS is the West's work.

    Other economic refuges are conquering you in a strategic war on a run. But people on run of the war it's much different. There are always adventurists. They are moving from point a to point b. And when you, from war, comes. There are to many of the economic refuges people allready there. It's a huge problem. What I can see. Thanks to the leaders and non leaders. If you don't have a leader. Be one. Do you see anyone else? Thats the problem.

    Life on this earth is very short, and God watches us and tests us to see how we treat our fellow humans. The fear that there isn't enough for everyone is a poisonous belief. To help these people unconditionally is to be godlike. If you have Love in your heart, there is no Fear. These two things cannot coexist. One of them is a liar.

This young mother did not have anything to do with American and British policy to "overthrow seven (7) governments," in the Middle East -- Gen. Wesley Clark, USA. And now she stands with nothing and four children with nothing. CAN YOU BE THIS BRAVE?! This woman can be your sister! This is America? This is what America is to the world now??? Come November there will be a change! This is not American. It never has been. America has been taken off course. But it is righting itself as I type this everyday.
