our bathroom has an extractor fan but it only goes beyond the first brick into the cavity? surely this can't be right for the moisture to go in between the walls??
It would make more sense to drill the pilot hole from the inside of the property (don’t use the hammer function while going through the plaster/less mess). You then have a pilot hole on the exterior of the property and can drill from that direction thus venting the dust to the exterior of the property rather than venting the brick dust onto all the soft furnishings of Mrs ó Ceallaigh’s front room. If you aren’t suffering from Thiamine deficiency or Korsakoff’s Syndrome then you might want to start the diamond core (with pilot) from the inside just to break through the plaster neatly. Then swap out for the longer pilot, then continue from the exterior for the least possible mess and least possible making good. I’m Welsh though so what do I know.
Exactly!! and if you tape up a black bin liner on the inside wall, there be no dust or mess inside too. I also plug the inside pilot hole (tissue paper is fine) before drilling thro from the outside, to again prevent dust driving inside the property.
U forgot to say when drilling with the bit in the middle of diamond cutter to take out it when u start to drill the wall in a bit as it will get losed down the cavity
OK, I'll bite. What is the purpose of this grill? I can see the house has a window right next to the grill, so I'm guessing it's not for ventilation. Seeing how there is no tube between the two grills, I'm really at a loss.
Great video dude, haters will hate. Most who have commented probably haven't even core drilled once in their life. Keyboard warriors and haters, stay blessed 😁
Nice one. Thanks for that. 'Er indoors has been nagging for me to put up an extractor hood in the kitchen, so now I know what to do, I suppose I don't have an excuse any more. Going to hire a drill and cutter next week. Thanks again, and please keep the excellent videos coming.
would it be possible to drill 6 inch diamond core drill cavity with the same type drill bit but without using ads drill just a regular cordless Hilti drill driver? just need to do 1 hole in the concrete wall.
You use a level ruler to check the electrical drill if horizontal. But, it seems not later. In the old battery operated drill. It used to have a level but unfortunately it is deleted in all new ones.
Howdy, greetings from London, up the Dubs. Just a quick question {PS did you ever get any 6011 rods for the LIDL welder or is Ireland still like Cuba lol}...we have a problem in work, management are a bunch of arses and the plumber needs a core drilled trough rebar concrete slab to get the waste into the basement. The hole is 5" max diameter. I have the same Hilti that you are using plus my own DeWalt Flexvolt breaker {the biggest one they make} Is there any chance that any of these cores like the one you are using would, however slowly, get through the slab, or am I wasting my time. LIke I said, the management cocked up and Holemasters won't come back out to the site to drill just the one hole so I wanted to give it a go myself. Cheers. TK
good job. don't like them dry cores. wet coring is quicker and cleaner. that hole would be done in 5-6 min including sleeving the hole. no need for guide holes as you'd be coming from outside straight through to onside. zero dust.
would a Makita impact drill or a power drill have enough power to go through ? I dont want t buy a special demolition drill for one job. I want to drill 4" into concrete slab
@@crunch9876 one into the wall and out, one into the concrete slab. i was thinking about using a concrete drill and rill multiple holes around the perimeter and then break it loose or use the core saw as shown on your video but only if i dont use a special power drill
Well done. The ONLY thing I see wrong is this. That looks like a TE-74 or TE -76 (hilti) Used that'll set you back 1,000.00...Core bit appears to be a Concord..there's another 80 quid. SDS max to SDS Plus adaptor ...another 40, pilot bit another 30 quid. If you are going to use this only one time it seems rather expensive.
It is called dry core bit, for cutting bricks and cinder block it is ok, but for cutting concrete (cured concrete) you should use a core machine with water through the bit, the inside wall he cut was cured concrete, typically you should use wet cutting with that, otherwise your diamond bit will fail very quickly

Won't that dump lots of hot wet air into the wall cavity?

it helps to drill a few holes once the core cutter cuts an inch and makes it much easier.

Maybe instead of opening the window for security reasons it could be to help air flow for a furnace

what happened the 4 inch pipe stop cavity leaks ect safety for gas leaks ect ?
Is that hole not been put right under the lintel bearing ?
Nice one. Thanks for that.

Hello, good video. I have a quick question. Is it possible to complete the drilling from inside?
Nice job.. Every time I see a nice brick wall like that in England I think of Winston Churchill and his membership in the bricklayer's union there.
You made that look simple, i had a nightmare today with a 1050w sds from wicks
So you dont need to buy kits for this ? just some 4inch pipe and covers for each end
would it be possible to drill 6 inch diamond core drill cavity with the same type drill bit but without using ads drill just a regular cordless
Hilti drill driver? just need to do 1 hole in the concrete wall.
You can with a cordless SDS hammer drill, not with an usual cordless drill you can melt the motor
Just one note mate, the tungsten carbide bit is also to be used with rotation only, not hammer action, thanks for the video
Sir is it good for 4 inch thick concrete wall also?
Why no ducting between grilles?
U
Thank you for this video. Next time try taking the drill bit out after you have made the first part of the hole
he was using it to follow the pilot hole
good thing you kept it level between the actual drilling

How old is that te24 ? I picked one up second hand for £25 and have no idea how old it is 👍
its a video... jeezus stop with the why not this or this... he's just tyring to give peeps the basics
you always see armchair experts on these videos.... they know fuck all about DIY and its embarrassing. this is a good video
chris salling I need a dust mask
That anti binding clutch has saved your wrist quite few times, didn't it?
That’s completely normal

Good video. Your expression on the ladder while drilling the exterior hole was gas haha. Takes ages, We've all been there haha
Sir can i use standard drill for that core cutter?thanks
nice one pat thanks for the video mate

did you get trough yet? lol ;)
Well done, buy going right through on hammer you’ve probably blown the brick right out before you get the core anywhere near it.

LOL, you know fuck all.... wetting the core bit will do nothing.... in fact it will mush up the brickwork and stick to the diamond...
It will also put water into your wall. ;)
Heeheheh professional worker -ventilation grilles we can drill max 150mm from ceiling mate ;).Thanks
Where can i buy that grille? And how much the price sir?
From online store to Screwfix,B&Q, or any 🛠🧰🛠local hardware shop and the price is so vary £10-20 to £100 depending on quality 🧰🔧🧰
Have you read the subtitles for this video.. youtube have got it slightly wrong 🤣
I was going to say the same thing. Made me laugh. Also using the level, lined up then took away back to square one with guessing the level
Yo paddy the reason it took so long is it was going in reverse Hahahahah 🤣🤣🤣
would a Makita impact drill or a power drill have enough power to go through ? I dont want t buy a special demolition drill for one job. I want to drill 4" into concrete slab
Sean yea it will go through go slow take breaks but it’ll go through. You drilling vertically or horizontally?

when i went tolocal hire shop they asked 110£ for one day for bit and hilti, it was a bit shock.so i bough one myself and it cost me all in total 60

Very nice work.
but bow its working with no water??

Nice & Good job.
very nice cutting and drilling tools
brother i need this drillmasheen
God I hate that tool, ever since I let it bind due to fatigue. It spun out of my hands and wacked me good.
but only if handled correctly, right hand keeping the front handle to catch the anty-rotary force and activate the brake
That's why he says in the beginning to use the correct drill, one with a clutch..
Nice work
Talk about square peg, round hole ... 😂😂😂
Dry core Bits Type
Think you lean on this bit a bit too much mate, let the bit do the work

Can someone translate this video into English?
I have put this type of vent in many homes my God you don't need a four inch hole, six to eight small holes will do the job 🤔
А нафига уровень ставить на перфоратор? )))))))) Так горизонта не добиться.
