He is such a good person. He is a former firefighter qnd during 9/11 he volunteered and had helped NYFD during that tragic time in US. May he recieve blessings for all he does.
I always like Steve "Boosh" as Sandler nicknamed him, Buscemi, besides being an excellent actor, Steve, former firefighter, went back to his old station to assist during 9/11.
In doing my genealogy, I’ve connected with a third cousin through Ancestry, and after googling a second cousin once removed, I was finally able to email him, and we spoke for over an hour on the phone! That has been some of the most satisfying stuff to happen after starting my research, and that’s saying something since I’ve been included on an Ancestry commercial.
I know the feeling. I've managed to track down a 1st cousin a couple times removed (his grandpa being my 2x great grandpa) but I'm not sure what to say. It's cool to find famous people in your tree too. Turns out my 3rd cousin 1x removed is a baron who was a famous barrister/ Master of the Rolls for a decade.
Steve I had to go look this up for you. Can't have folks prone to depression thinking they're alone. “I'm saying this is the South. And we're proud of our crazy people. We don't hide them up in the attic. We bring 'em right down to the living room and show 'em off. See, Phyllis, no one in the South ever asks if you have crazy people in your family. They just ask what side they're on." Dixie Carter.
My friend's dad is called Steve Buscemi, and her mother Stephanie Buscemi, (so also kinda Steve Buscemi!) 😅 Not only that, but her dad, Steve Buscemi, was in the navy and his commanding officer was friends with the actor Steve Buscemi. That's a lot of Steve Buscemi for one person.
Steve never would never imagined there was a Dentist in the family...a couple of weeks ago I discovered we had a family member named Napoleon Bonaparte 😆😁
I was hoping they would give a little detail on his father's Sicilian lineage. I have Buscemi in my Sicilian family tree and wondered from which village his family originated.
@@Chicago_Cabbie His receptionist mentioned it when they canceled the appointment. It's sad. He was such a nice man. I looked into it afterwards to find it was true.
The surname Buscemi was first found in Milan (Italian: Milano, Milanese: Milan), the second-most populous city in Italy and the capital of Lombardy. The two palaces in the Piazza del Duomo, Palazzo Reale and the palace of the archbishops are notable.
Also, I was wondering where you got the information from. Buscemi, like other names that end with "mi" like the city of Salemi in Sicily are usually of Arab origin.
I feel like I missed something. Two people in his family were "placed" or given up by their parents as child-servants to other families. But why? What was going on there?
When a parent couldn't support their family, kids were farmed out. This happened even in the 1930s in the US. My grandparents took in a girl from eastern KY, and my ggrandparents took in a boy from eastern KY. They were not orphans.
@@sharontabor7718 In 1901, my great-great-grandmother Mina Carson died from appendicitis (only aged 31). After a year, her husband Julius couldn’t handle the five children anymore. So, he sent the three eldest girls to live with two of Mina’s siblings, took the youngest with him when he moved hundreds of miles away downstate, and imo worst of all put his only boy into a Chicago orphanage. I would be more understanding if he had not taken the youngest with him-he obviously felt he could handle her, but not his son, too?
I wish he was right about depression being less stigmatizing these days. However, it is not. My own mother disowned me. She and her family still view it as a stain.
@nohandle62 Human progress is never an evenly stepped advance. While you most likely have a much clearer understanding now of the characteristics of your depression - and whether there are any possible genetic contributions - your parent has not been able to move beyond the old diagnoses and paradigms of the past. I hope very much that you've found peace in your own journey. Your words here have a sense of courage and calm acceptance.🌌
I heard you never walk up to him he won't be nice, he doesn't like that I'm saying now if I ever see a celebrity I might take a double look but I will never approach anyone like that
Who could blame him. Most people don’t like being accosted on the streets and being a known person makes those forced interactions awkward and cringe. You also don’t know who is walking up to you. I once inadvertently bumped into Diane Keaton in Palm Springs as she came out of a shop with a large framed painting. It lasted 2 seconds, we both said “sorry” and that was that. I doubt she would have appreciated me going omg it’s Diane Keaton. I did btw, do a double take 😂
All these generations later, that dental gene is still dominant. Why god, why? Back in the '70s when he was a fireman, we went to the same laundromat in the E. Village. He stood out; he was attractive but also kind of weird looking, much like many of the characters he plays.
Mr.Bucemi is such a calm likable man. So unlike the shifty nervous character roles he sometimes plays in movies.
Weird compliment/insult.
It’s almost as if he’s an actor...
It’s how he earns his daily bread. He “acts.”
Yeah, he's an actor 😅
His parents seem really sweet.

Wonderful actor playing interesting roles.
Love him in 28 Days, where he plays Sandra Bullock's rehab counselor. It's a straight dramatic role.

There is a high rate of depression and su**c*de in the dental profession even today.
Why ? Are dentists down in the mouth ?

Veterinarians are also at risk. I think it has something to do with dealing with a lot of pain and suffering.
