My uncle was a former Black Panther and a DJ from 1970-1987, so I knew about Afrika Bambaataa and grew up on Gil Scott Heron. X-Clan came to UAPB and educated my 18-year old naive self! Still listening to them and loving them 30 years later!
They were way ahead of their time. I remember being a kid, trying to digest everything they were saying, and doing. They represented a strong movement that we lack today. Salute!!
